Job Description
Blue Water Hospitality is a dynamic and growing organization in the hospitality industry, established in 2002. Over the years, Blue Water has risen to prominence by investing, developing, and managing an extensive portfolio of RV resorts, campgrounds, hotels, and attractions. Their offerings range from cozy campsites and vibrant water parks to luxurious hotel suites, each aimed at providing guests with memorable and exceptional experiences. As a leader in hospitality, Blue Water continuously strives to raise the standards of excellence and innovation in real estate development and guest services, making it a highly respected and sought-after employer within the industry.
The role of General Manager (GM) at Blue Water Hospitality is a pivotal leadership position responsible for the comprehensive management of an upscale campground and RV Resort. This professional's primary objectives are to take care of the team, create outstanding guest experiences, and effectively manage the business. The GM will have full reporting responsibilities and will provide strategic direction and operational oversight across all facets of the property, including amenities and lodging services. This role is ideal for a resourceful, creative leader motivated by engagement, goal achievement, and excellence in hospitality.
The General Manager is expected to lead with vision and integrity, managing staff recruitment, performance, scheduling, and training while ensuring compliance with labor laws and company policies. They champion human resource strategies and collaborate with People Operations to maintain a supportive and fair workplace. On the guest service front, the GM fosters an environment where the team is equipped and motivated to deliver exceptional service, maintain high property standards, and respond effectively to guest feedback and concerns.
Financial adeptness is crucial; the GM leads budgeting, forecasting, expense control, and revenue optimization including overseeing ancillary revenue streams such as Food & Beverage and special events. They also coordinate with corporate teams and third-party vendors to align operational goals and enhance the guest experience. This role requires the ability to balance big-picture strategic thinking with hands-on management, operating effectively in a fast-paced, guest-centric environment.
The position does not include housing but offers full-time benefits eligibility such as health insurance, 401K plans, property discounts, and bonus opportunities up to 10%. Blue Water looks for candidates who are independent self-starters, strategic thinkers, and effective communicators with proven experience in tourism, hospitality, and RV campground leadership. Prior knowledge of budget management, payroll systems, event planning, and guest engagement through technology and social media is highly valued.
Physical requirements for this leadership role are modest but important, including the ability to stand or walk for extended periods, lift up to 25-45 pounds occasionally, climb stairs, and navigate uneven terrain. The role demands stamina to work varied shifts and tolerate indoor and outdoor environments. Blue Water Hospitality is committed to equal employment opportunities and compliance with all employment laws, providing a welcoming and inclusive workplace for all employees. This is a unique opportunity to join a forward-thinking company where you can make significant contributions to guest satisfaction, team development, and business success in a thriving hospitality setting.
