The position of General Manager at Bazaar Meat is a salaried, exempt role reporting directly to the Director of Operations or Regional Vice President. This role holds the highest operational authority within the restaurant and is responsible for all facets of business leadership, including financial performance, operational excellence, team management, and guest experience. The General Manager acts as the business owner of the restaurant, setting strategic vision and priorities and translating them into actionable operating plans and performance metrics. The successful candidate will lead a dynamic management team to deliver on brand standards, ensure compliance, and foster a positive culture grounded in José Andrés Group’s core values, which include diversity, equity, inclusion, accountability, and continuous learning. Key responsibilities include owning the profit and loss statement, managing labor and costs, overseeing inventory and vendor relations, and driving sales and profitability. The General Manager will also maintain flawless execution of service across all revenue streams, including à la carte dining, bar service, private events, and special occasions. They are expected to uphold safety standards, health regulations, and risk management protocols while maintaining high operational standards. Job Requirements
- 5-7+ years of progressive front of house leadership in high-volume upscale casual or fine dining
- 2+ years as general manager strongly preferred
- proven success owning a profit and loss statement and delivering results across revenue growth, cost of goods sold, labor, and guest satisfaction
- demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and inspire management teams and large hourly staffs
- expert knowledge of service standards, guest recovery, health and safety compliance, and cash controls
- fluency with reservation systems such as Resy, SevenRooms, or TOCK
- fluency with point of sale systems such as MICROS or Toast
- fluency with scheduling software such as HotSchedules or similar
- proficiency with Google Workspace
- strong communication, organization, data literacy, and business judgment skills
- ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties
- set vision and priorities for the property
- conduct weekly and monthly business reviews with actionable follow-ups
- champion josé andrés group values, diversity, equity, and inclusion commitments, and a culture of accountability, learning, and care
- own the profit and loss statement: plan, forecast, and deliver on revenue, cost of goods sold, labor, and controllable expenses
- build accurate weekly labor plans and manage deployment in-shift to productivity and service standards
- oversee inventory integrity, waste control, procurement practices, and vendor relations
- monitor and act on key performance indicators such as covers, check average, mix, cost of goods sold, labor percentage, comps and voids, guest sentiment, and turnover
- ensure flawless execution of service across all activations including à la carte, bar, private dining, and events
- maintain standard operating procedures, playbooks, and checklists, closing gaps with training and continuous improvement
- oversee facilities, cleanliness, maintenance, and equipment reliability in partnership with culinary and facilities departments
- lead openings and closings, cash controls, and shift rhythms including pre-shift meetings, deployment, and recovery
- model anticipatory hospitality and effective table touches
- manage VIPs and guest recovery with speed and empathy
- review feedback platforms and social sentiment, implementing improvement plans and celebrating wins
- partner with beverage and culinary teams to evolve offerings and features that drive sales and guest loyalty
- hire, onboard, and retain top talent
- maintain a strong bench of leaders and key hourly roles
- coach managers and supervisors through regular one-on-ones, check-ins, and performance conversations
- deliver ongoing training programs including service, product knowledge, systems, and compliance
- ensure respectful, inclusive, and safe workplaces while addressing conflict promptly and professionally
- drive topline sales through reservation strategy, pacing, mix management, upselling programs, and private dining sales
- support local marketing, partnerships, hotel concierge relationships, and neighborhood community engagement
- represent the brand at events and media appearances as appropriate
- ensure adherence to health department regulations, alcohol service laws, wage and hour, and company policies
- maintain required certifications and oversee incident reporting, investigations, and corrective actions
- lead safety drills, allergy and ADA protocols, and emergency readiness
- partner closely with executive chef, beverage, human resources, finance, facilities, marketing, and events teams
- lead or support pre-opening workstreams, seasonal and menu launches, and special projects as assigned
