The General Manager & Executive Chef role at Epicurean offers a unique dual responsibility that combines leadership in culinary innovation with executive management of food service operations. With a competitive salary range of $90,000 to $95,000 plus bonus compensation, this full-time position is designed for an experienced professional ready to oversee both front and back of house functions. The person in this role will be instrumental in maintaining the highest standards of quality in the culinary program while managing all financial aspects, including reporting and budgeting.

Duties include managing menu development, controlling inventory and purchasing, and closely monitoring labor and food costs to meet financial targets without sacrificing quality. This role also entails upholding sanitation and safety standards according to regulatory requirements, thereby ensuring a safe and compliant working environment. Personnel management is a significant aspect of the position, involving hiring, coaching, counseling, training, and developing team members to foster a cohesive and motivated workforce. Job Requirements

  • Degree in culinary arts or related field preferred
  • minimum five years of progressive culinary management experience
  • knowledge of HACCP controls and food safety standards
  • experience with purchasing, food storage, and sanitation
  • proven ability to manage budgets, labor costs, and inventory control
  • strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office and POS systems
  • excellent communication skills
  • ability to lift, bend and carry up to 40 pounds

Job Qualifications

  • Degree in Culinary Arts is preferred or equivalent professional experience

  • ServSafe or Department of Health certification a plus
