Job Description

MV Transportation is currently seeking a General Manager to take a pivotal leadership role at one of its operating locations. This full-time position, offering a competitive starting salary range from $117,000 to $138,000, requires a dynamic and experienced individual to oversee the daily management of transportation contracts. The General Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all operations align with company policies, governmental regulations, and contractual obligations. Essential aspects of this role include directing staff recruitment, mentoring, and development programs, managing vehicle maintenance and fleet availability, and leading safety and training initiatives.

The General Manager will serve as the key liaison with clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and operational performance through ongoing communication and engagement. Oversight of departmental audits and regular review of operational metrics are critical to maintaining service quality and financial health of the location. The role demands expertise in labor and employee relations, budgeting and financial management, and strategic planning to meet current and future operational goals. Moreover, the General Manager is expected to promote adherence to company policies and contribute to contract renewals through insightful data and reports.

This position also requires active participation in labor negotiations and policy development, demonstrating the importance of leadership skills that inspire and motivate teams toward excellence.   • Minimum of five years of recent experience managing paratransit operations or a similar position
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit and develop staff
  • Evidence of building solid relationships with supervisors, peers, and subordinates
  • Demonstrated ability to build and continuously motivate highly effective teams
  • Successful track record in managing budgets and/or profit and loss responsibility
  • Ability to interface with Pace directors, elected officials, and all levels of hourly and salaried staff employees, including senior management
  • Ability to obtain successful results without supervision
  • Must have labor/union(s) negotiations/expenses expertise
  • MS Office, strong analytical skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, and a high degree of multitasking skills
  • Additional duties/responsibilities based upon individual contract requirements

Job Duties

  • Effectively manage customer relations through both direct contact and outreach programs
  • Identify, select, train and mentor location staff
  • Effectively and frequently communicate with location staff and support team members
  • Oversee vehicle maintenance plan and ensure fleet availability to meet service requirements
  • Oversee safety and training programs, plans and processes to ensure compliance with company, contract and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain client contact routinely to meet or exceed expectations
  • Conduct periodic departmental audits
  • Daily, weekly and monthly review of key operational metrics
  • Ensure that all location financial metrics are managed continuously, exceptions are reported and action plans are developed to ensure the location meets its financial, safety and operational expectations
  • Implement, promote and adhere to company policies and procedures
  • Interact with bridges committee to effectuate positive changes to policies, procedures and programs
  • Participate in location(s) labor and employee relations activities
  • Provide insight and information to support location(s) contract renewals
  • Create and present location(s) annual budget
