The General Manager role at Mint Cannabis offers a unique leadership opportunity within a vibrant and fast-paced retail environment. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Operations, the General Manager will be primarily responsible for overseeing all daily functions of a high-volume dispensary. Salary for this exempt position ranges between $75,000 and $80,000, depending on experience. The General Manager will lead a dedicated team of 20 to 30 employees including assistant managers, leads, and front-line staff. Key responsibilities include fostering a positive work culture aligned with Mint Cannabis values, ensuring operational compliance with state and local cannabis regulations, managing inventory and financial processes, and enhancing the customer experience. This role also involves close collaboration with marketing and regional leadership to drive business growth and community engagement.

The ideal candidate will bring at least three years of retail management experience, preferably within a high-volume and regulated setting. Experience in the cannabis industry is strongly preferred, as is a robust understanding of compliance, inventory control, cash handling, and point-of-sale systems. Excellent communication and leadership skills will be essential to coach and mentor employees, oversee operational execution, and resolve escalated customer concerns. Additional requirements include eligibility to obtain and maintain a Facility Agent Card and the ability to pass background and fingerprint checks.

This position requires standing and walking for extended periods, lifting weights between 25 to 50 pounds, and working a flexible schedule which may include nights, weekends, and holidays. The working environment is dynamic and fast-paced, with exposure to cannabis products and applicable security protocols. Minimal travel may be necessary for training or inter-store collaboration.

Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • 3+ years of retail management experience preferably in a high-volume regulated environment
  • 1+ year of cannabis industry experience strongly preferred

  • strong working knowledge of compliance inventory management and cash handling procedures
  • excellent communication organizational and decision-making skills
  • proficiency with POS systems and retail management software

Job Duties

  • Lead train and coach a team of 20-30 employees including assistant managers and front-line staff
  • create a positive inclusive and performance-driven culture aligned with Mint Cannabis values
  • conduct team meetings performance reviews and ongoing coaching to ensure accountability and development
  • oversee day-to-day dispensary operations including opening/closing shift coverage cash handling and compliance
  • ensure exceptional customer service and resolve escalated guest issues professionally
  • monitor store appearance cleanliness and functionality to ensure a consistent customer experience
  • ensure full compliance with all state and local cannabis regulations company policies and SOPs
  • manage Facility Agent Cards ID verification and documentation procedures
  • enforce safety and security protocols including alarm systems cash handling and loss prevention
  • work with inventory and procurement teams to maintain accurate stock levels and timely product rotation
  • oversee daily financials including cash reconciliation banking deposits and reporting
  • support sales forecasting and budgeting while managing labor and operational expenses
  • collaborate with marketing to execute promotions and in-store campaigns
  • partner with leadership and support teams on cross-functional initiatives and regional planning
  • engage in local community outreach and brand-building opportunities
  • directly supervise all store staff including assistant managers leads and front-line team members
  • responsible for hiring training scheduling coaching and performance management
  • ensure adherence to company policies compliance standards and operational procedures
  • foster a team-oriented environment that supports employee growth and accountability
