The General Manager plays a pivotal role at Checkers & Rally's, serving as a corporate field operations leader responsible for driving the restaurant’s overall performance. The General Manager’s primary objective is to implement the restaurant business plan effectively by achieving targeted sales and profit goals, maximizing guest satisfaction, and ensuring a motivated and high-performing team.
In this role, General Managers will oversee all facets of restaurant operations including managing the profit and loss (P&L) statement to meet budgeted financial objectives. They utilize data analytics to identify areas of improvement and implement strategies to increase sales, enhance operational efficiency, and optimize guest service. The role demands excellent leadership skills as the manager is responsible for recruiting and retaining the right talent, ensuring the team is adequately staffed with the right employees to maintain smooth operations throughout each shift.
Training and developing team members and assistant managers are critical components of the role, ensuring everyone adheres to Checkers & Rally’s established policies, procedures, and customer service standards. The General Manager is also responsible for fostering a safe, clean, and enjoyable restaurant environment for both employees and guests, upholding the values and culture of the organization. Additionally, they address customer complaints promptly and effectively, resolve policy issues, and provide ongoing feedback and coaching to improve employee performance continuously.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Food safety certified preferred
- Over 2 years restaurant management experience, preferably in quick service restaurants (QSR)
- Basic math skills
- Microsoft Office and general systems experience
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Ability to work flexible schedule and extended hours
- High energy to keep up with our fast paced environment

Job Duties
- Meeting budgeted sales and profits by managing all aspects of the P&L
- Continually analyzing the data and developing and executing plans to improve sales and profits and increase restaurant service and efficiency
- Determining staffing needs and hiring the right candidates for the right position
- Ensuring shifts are properly staffed to guarantee consistent operations and Guest satisfaction
- Training Team Members and Managers on operations, policies and procedures and Guest service
- Identifying and responding to complaints and policy and procedure violations
- Providing regular feedback and coaching to employees on their performance
- Ensuring the restaurant is a safe, clean and fun environment for our employees and Guests
