Job Description
Our establishment is a dynamic and reputable restaurant committed to delivering exceptional dining experiences through high standards in food quality, safety, customer service, and overall restaurant operations. Recognized for its commitment to excellence and consistent ability to meet company goals and standards, the restaurant prides itself on fostering a positive, efficient, and safe working environment for all employees. With a strong emphasis on teamwork and leadership, the restaurant operates under a structured hierarchy where assistant managers, shift managers, crew members, and district supervisors collaborate to ensure seamless daily operations. This is a full-time employment opportunity with competitive compensation, reflecting the importance of the role in sustaining the restaurant's stellar performance and reputation.
The Assistant General Manager plays a crucial role directly supporting the General Manager in overseeing all aspects of restaurant operations. This position requires a leader who can manage both staff and operational processes to ensure that the restaurant meets its business objectives including food quality, safety, cost controls, cleanliness, customer satisfaction, staffing effectiveness, and facility maintenance. The Assistant General Manager sets the tone for the restaurant’s culture and embodies the organization’s values by modeling exceptional standards, cultivating a motivated team, and driving continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities include directing subordinate staff such as assistant managers, shift managers, and crew by recruiting, interviewing, hiring, promoting, disciplining, and terminating team members in line with company policies. The role demands active supervision and hands-on involvement in food preparation to maintain brand standards, complaint resolution to enhance customer experience, and strict adherence to operational procedures including opening and closing responsibilities. Administrative duties such as scheduling, food ordering, inventory management, safety checks, and maintenance requests are also integral to the role. The Assistant General Manager ensures the restaurant complies with cash handling protocols and fosters a safe work environment adhering to company guidelines, legal regulations, and common sense practices.
Beyond daily management, the Assistant General Manager is instrumental in workforce development by conducting training sessions, cross-training team members, and recommending high performers for promotion. The role also encompasses quality assurance by actively monitoring food and service standards during shifts, maintaining store cleanliness, and driving operational efficiencies to enhance speed and customer satisfaction. Control measures such as monitoring inventory, managing security of cash and supplies, following store priorities, and ensuring company policy compliance related to discounts and promotions are essential functions.
This role requires excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills combined with practical computer proficiency and the ability to adapt swiftly to changing business needs. Physical demands include prolonged standing, frequent movement across various restaurant areas, operation of office equipment, and the capability to lift supplies and materials. Candidates must be at least 21 years old, possess a high school diploma or G.E.D, hold a valid driver’s license with a good driving record, and have access to a vehicle. This challenging yet rewarding position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on the restaurant’s success and employee engagement within a structured and supportive work environment.
