This hotel is part of a larger brand, which means it follows established standards and procedures to maintain a consistent and high-quality service environment. With a positive and professional culture, the hotel aims to be a leader in the community and hospitality industry by continuously improving profitability, fostering teamwork, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
The Supervisor role is critical to the overall success of the hotel. Reporting directly to the Regional Director of Operations, this position involves comprehensive oversight of the hotel's daily operations with the goal of achieving profitability through revenue generation, cost control, employee development, and maintaining the integrity of the property. The Supervisor will lead all aspects of hotel management, including sales and marketing efforts, guest relations, record keeping, employee staffing and training, cost controls, revenue management, and adherence to brand standards. This is a full-time exempt position, requiring flexibility in work hours to meet the demands of the role and complete all responsibilities.
Key responsibilities include fostering a positive, team-oriented environment with an upbeat personality geared toward delivering outstanding customer service. The Supervisor must ensure that all employees provide excellent guest service and comply with professional appearance standards. Maintaining punctual attendance and regular scheduling according to hotel needs is essential, along with strict confidentiality in all business matters. The role demands multi-tasking, attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage internal and external customer relationships effectively.
Additionally, the Supervisor is responsible for handling and resolving guest complaints professionally through active listening and careful clarification. Compliance with certification requirements such as food handling, alcohol awareness, CPR, and First Aid may be required depending on specific responsibilities. Enforcing company policies and adherence to federal, state, and local laws related to personnel, security, guest relations, alcohol service, and health and safety is also an integral part of the job.
The Supervisor will collaborate with the Revenue Manager and Director of Sales to analyze rates, events, groups, and group pickup with the goal of maximizing room rates and revenue. Sales calls, community involvement, and civic engagement are expected to enhance the hotel's market presence and foster business relationships. Conducting regular staff meetings and ensuring timely completion of required staff training will support employee development and operational success.
Financial responsibilities include working to achieve budgeted revenues and expenses, maintaining adequate inventory levels, and controlling costs in areas like breakfast supplies, linen, guest room supplies, cleaning chemicals, and more. The Supervisor should be able to perform basic math, understand financial reports, and meet financial review deadlines, including month-end reporting, payroll, and inventory management. Processing invoices punctually and reducing accounts receivable collectibles under 90 days are vital to the hotel's financial health.
Safety and loss prevention are paramount, requiring the Supervisor to recognize and act promptly on any incidents that might cause damage, liability, or injury. Daily inspections of guest rooms, public areas, back of house, and grounds ensure cleanliness and property maintenance. The Supervisor must maintain the property attractively and economically while complying with all brand standards and ensuring that preventative maintenance schedules are followed.
Staffing duties include ensuring that the hotel is fully and professionally staffed at all times and that employee performance reviews are conducted punctually. The Supervisor may also be assigned other duties as necessary to support hotel operations and company goals. This role requires an energetic leader capable of managing multiple priorities effectively to enhance the guest experience, operational performance, and overall profitability of the hotel.
