The role of General Manager at Cavco Industries is a critical leadership position within the manufactured housing industry, responsible for overseeing the entire plant operations to ensure that business objectives are met with professionalism, integrity, and adherence to company policies and core values. Located in Dorchester, WI, this role may offer relocation assistance for qualified candidates who are willing to relocate. The General Manager is entrusted with the total management authority for the plant, including ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards and maintaining strong customer relationships. This position demands a dedicated leader who understands how to balance operational demands with legal and risk management responsibilities, while fostering a positive work culture that motivates and develops teams. - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in the manufactured housing or related industry
- Proven leadership and supervisory experience
- Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening

Job Duties
- Ensure all company assets are properly safeguarded and that effective internal controls are established and maintained
- Ensure the plant consistently produces code-compliant, high-quality homes and conduct periodic inspections of plant output to validate adherence to quality standards
- Collaborate with department heads to develop the annual business plan narrative and ensure operations meet business plan objectives on a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual basis
- Maintain full compliance with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations including product construction, employee health and safety, and recordkeeping
- Ensure employees are competent and aligned with company core values, conduct annual performance reviews for direct reports and administer compensation fairly based on performance
- Actively cultivate and maintain strong customer relationships and regularly visit customers to ensure satisfaction and that operating objectives are met
- Coordinate with the Regional Vice President and Cavco Compliance Department on legal matters, promptly report legal documents for proper handling
- Review monthly budget versus actual performance with department heads to maximize profitability, identify issues, implement corrective actions and ensure follow-up
- Guide, coach, and motivate team members to achieve business plan objectives and foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and high performance
- Establish high expectations through strong processes across all management areas focusing on improving processes before addressing personnel changes
- Manage plant profit and loss performance to meet or exceed budget expectations, optimize the impact of product mix, pricing, and specifications
- Collaborate with department heads to identify capital expenditure needs and develop supporting documentation for system, equipment, and process investments
