Job Requirements

Job Qualifications
- At least 6 years progressive experience in a hotel or related field
- or 4-year college degree with 4 to 5 years related experience
- or 2-year college degree with 5 to 6 years related experience
- Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with all employees and guests
- Ability to listen, understand, and clarify concerns
- Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions
- Attend all required hotel meetings and trainings
- Participate in M.O.D. coverage as required
- Maintain regular attendance in compliance with standards

Job Duties
- Tour the operating departments daily, making adjustments as needed via department heads
- Conduct weekly staff meetings and training sessions according to Highgate Hotel standards
- Meet all financial review dates and corporate directed programs timely
- Hold monthly financial reviews with all department managers and supervisors
- Ensure department heads maintain budgeted productivity levels and accounting procedures
- Develop managers for future advancement through training programs
- Conduct daily HHBR meetings with Director of Sales focusing on prospecting and account calls
- Play a pivotal role in hotel sales efforts including client meetings and hosting events
- Participate in M.O.D. coverage as scheduled
- Monitor and develop management trainees
- Adhere to all Highgate policies and train new managers
- Assist in budget processes
- Implement service standard training and ensure compliance
- Foster a positive team environment through employee motivation
- Inspect rooms regularly with Housekeeping and Engineering
- Ensure daily invoice processing
- Comply with corporate monthly accounting schedules
- Oversee property cleanliness and preventive maintenance
- Ensure employees provide attentive and courteous guest service
- Forecast monthly hotel financials and analyze data
- Manage hiring and interviewing of management staff
- Conduct performance appraisals and disciplinary actions
- Perform duties as requested by Vice President or Regional Director
- Ensure fair treatment of all employees
- Engage with clients and guests during peak times
- Manage hotel safe procedures and monthly audits
- Conduct monthly credit meetings and enforce credit policies
- Complete corporate training modules and certifications
- Schedule and conduct all necessary meetings on the property
