Job Description
The Waller Group is a distinguished company that proudly operates SONIC Drive-In restaurants, a beloved name in the fast-food industry known for its unique drive-in dining experience and classic American menu offerings. With a strong commitment to delivering exceptional service in a fun and nostalgic environment, SONIC has earned a reputation for quality, customer satisfaction, and community involvement. The Waller Group emphasizes a supportive work culture where employees feel valued and are given opportunities to grow within the organization. This makes it a sought-after employer in the restaurant sector, focusing on high standards, operational excellence, and team collaboration.
Joining The Waller Group as a General Manager at SONIC Drive-In means stepping into a dynamic leadership role where you become the driving force behind a successful and efficient restaurant operation. As the General Manager, you lead a dedicated team of crew members, Carhops, and Skating Carhops in providing an infinitely delicious food service experience that delights customers and keeps them coming back. Your responsibilities extend beyond daily management to include training, coaching, scheduling, inventory control, and maintaining compliance with company policies and health regulations.
This role is designed for individuals passionate about the restaurant industry who thrive in a fast-paced environment and take pride in leading their teams towards operational and customer service excellence. The position requires a hands-on approach where the General Manager performs restaurant opening and closing duties, manages employee schedules to optimize staffing, ensures proper inventory management and ordering within cost controls, and handles employment and payroll records meticulously.
Beyond operational tasks, as a General Manager at SONIC, you champion a customer-first mentality, ensuring each guest has an exceptional experience by resolving requests promptly and addressing any complaints with professionalism. Recruitment and staffing are also key aspects of the role, as you interview and hire team members to build a strong workforce. The role also requires developing and implementing marketing plans to enhance sales and visibility in the community.
Ideal candidates will bring at least two years of restaurant management experience, preferably in quick-service restaurants, showcasing their ability to run shifts independently and lead with confidence. The employment type involves a minimum five-day workweek with four closing shifts or a guaranteed four-day workweek, including irregular hours, nights, weekends, and holidays to meet operational demands.
Working at SONIC Drive-In with The Waller Group is more than a job; it’s a vibrant career opportunity where enthusiasm, leadership, and dedication are celebrated. The General Manager role represents the perfect blend of challenge and reward, allowing you to guide a vibrant team while contributing directly to a time-honored dining experience that remains groovy, right on, and downright sensational. If you’re ready to take on this exciting challenge and be part of a team that’s making a difference in the fast-food industry, then this could be the dream job you never have to wake up from.
