The role of the Restaurant General Manager is central to the restaurant's success. The Restaurant General Manager works closely with the team to manage scheduling, staffing, and recruitment to maintain optimal coverage and productivity. They are also responsible for fostering a positive working environment that is professional, safe, and free of harassment. Effective communication is essential in this role, as the manager must engage with guests, team members, management, owners, and vendors to address feedback, resolve issues, and build community involvement through catering and other initiatives.
Physical requirements of the position include the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand or sit for extended periods, and perform various physical tasks such as bending, reaching, and climbing. These physical capabilities are necessary because of the hands-on nature of restaurant management and operational oversight.
Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, with some college education preferred. More importantly, candidates must bring at least three years of high-volume full-service restaurant management experience, exceptional leadership and motivational skills, and a customer-focused mindset aimed at delivering an exceptional dining experience.
