Job Description

Desmond Foods LP, operating Wendy's franchises in California, is a well-established organization with a rich history and dedication to quality and guest satisfaction. Since opening its first Wendy's on the West Coast nearly 50 years ago in Fresno, California, this organization has grown to encompass 45 restaurants throughout the state. Desmond Foods LP, along with Wendy's of Fresno Inc., Wendy's of Santa Clara Inc., and Peninsula Foods LP, stands as a respected name in the Wendy's franchise community. The legacy began with Joseph F. Desmond, who personally signed his first franchise agreement with Wendy's founder Dave Thomas, setting a foundation of excellence and commitment that continues today.

This franchise organization is committed to exceeding guests' expectations by delivering high standards in product quality, service, and the overall dining experience. The core values of leadership, trust, loyalty, teamwork, and commitment are deeply embedded within the corporate culture. These principles support a positive, people-first work environment that fosters personal growth and professional development. Staff at these franchises have access to robust career advancement opportunities, making it an attractive employer for individuals seeking long-term employment in the hospitality and fast-food industry.

The position available offers an exciting opportunity to be part of this reputable franchise network. The role focuses on ensuring the business achieves its sales and profit goals by maximizing operational efficiency and maintaining elevated standards that align with Wendy's Quality and Service Criteria (HQSC). As a leader, the successful candidate will be instrumental in developing and coaching team members, launching and maintaining Wendy's operating systems, and driving the restaurant’s success through hands-on management and strategic direction.

This leadership role involves managing a team of 20 to 50 employees, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws, and fostering a culture where people come first. The ideal candidate will bring a ‘beat last year's sales’ mentality with the ability to inspire and motivate their team to strive for continuous improvement. Training and development of subordinates is a key responsibility, ensuring that the restaurant maintains its operational standards and that all team members are well-prepared to deliver outstanding service. This role is perfect for someone passionate about coaching and mentoring staff, as well as leading by example in a fast-paced environment.

Employees in this franchise benefit from a people-first culture that encourages advancement. Competitive pay is complemented by health, dental, and vision insurance plans, alongside a bonus program, paid vacation, a 401K plan with company match, and an employee meal program. These benefits showcase the organization’s commitment to supporting its workforce in all aspects of employee well-being and job satisfaction.

It is important to note that this job opportunity is with one of the many independently owned and operated Wendy's franchisees under the Desmond Foods umbrella. Each franchise may have its own specific compensation, benefits, and career programs that vary from company-owned Wendy's locations.
