Job Description
Indiana Hospitality Group is a reputable and expanding hotel management company that has been a significant player in the hospitality industry since its inception in 1985. The company specializes in designing, building, owning, and operating a portfolio of high-quality hotels under recognized brands such as Marriott, Hilton, Intercontinental Hotels Group, and Choice Hotels. Indiana Hospitality Group is committed to exceeding guest expectations by providing a unique and memorable guest experience. Their hotels are known for being clean, well-maintained, and friendly, reflecting the company’s core values and dedication to excellence in hospitality. With decades of experience and growth, the group has cultivated a strong reputation as a leader in hotel management, blending industry best practices with personalized service to ensure guests feel welcomed and valued.
We are looking for an experienced Manager to take charge and manage one of our hotels with pride of ownership. This role is perfect for an entrepreneurial leader who loves interacting with the public and is obsessed with building a culture of excellence and cleanliness. The General Manager (GM) will oversee the daily operations of the hotel to ensure seamless and profitable business performance in a drug-free workplace. This is a full-time position that requires passing a background screen to qualify. The GM will be deeply involved in all aspects of hotel operations, acting as the principal reference point for employees, clients, and external vendors. Key responsibilities will include handling customer complaints, strategizing business improvements, preparing critical reports, and guiding the team to work cohesively and effectively.
The ideal candidate is not only a strong leader and team player but someone who fosters cooperation and enhances employee engagement to build a positive working environment. The GM will be expected to supervise work across all departments including the front desk, kitchen staff, housekeeping, and maintenance, ensuring clear objectives are set and met. Financial responsibility will involve managing budgets, expenses, and monitoring sales and profits while developing and implementing effective marketing strategies to promote hotel services. Communication skills are essential as the GM will engage directly with customers, addressing their concerns and providing information as needed. Attention to maintenance, staffing, equipment needs, and renovations is a crucial part of the role, alongside collaborating with external partners like suppliers and event planners. The GM must also regularly inspect hotel facilities to ensure strict compliance with health and safety standards.
This role requires a leader with proven hotel management experience, fluency in English, excellent customer service, business acumen, and outstanding decision-making abilities. Familiarity with MS Office and hotel management software (PMS) is highly advantageous. The successful candidate will be dependable and capable of multitasking effectively under pressure, exemplifying great attention to detail and leadership excellence. Joining Indiana Hospitality Group means becoming part of a dynamic and service-oriented company passionate about hospitality and guest satisfaction.
