This position invites a seasoned General Manager 5 - Food to lead food service operations at one of New York City's premier long-term care facilities located in the vibrant Lower East Side. This is a pivotal leadership role characterized by high visibility and significant impact on resident satisfaction and operational excellence. The chosen candidate will steer all facets of food services, encompassing patient dining and retail offerings, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and standards such as DOH, Joint Commission, and HACCP. Managing a diverse team including an Operations Manager, Patient Services Manager, an Executive Chef, and over 50 unionized frontline workers, the General Manager will drive a culture of safety, service excellence, and employee engagement. Playing a vital role in budget oversight, forecasting, and cost control, the successful candidate will collaborate closely with client leadership to align and exceed performance objectives and continuously improve the dining experience. - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum management experience of 5 years
- Minimum functional experience of 5 years
- Strong leadership experience in healthcare food service
- Culinary background

Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Strong leadership experience in healthcare food service preferably within long-term care
- Culinary background with a passion for quality innovation and resident-centered dining
- Proven success managing unionized teams in a complex high-volume environment
- Experience leading multi-level management teams
- Strong financial acumen including P&L management and cost control
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills
- Ability to drive employee engagement and operational performance
Job Duties
- Provide strategic leadership for all food service operations including patient dining and retail services
- Lead mentor and develop a team including Operations Manager Patient Services Manager Executive Chef and over 50 union frontline employees
- Drive exceptional resident satisfaction through quality food service and hospitality
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards such as DOH Joint Commission and HACCP
- Oversee financial performance including budgeting forecasting and cost controls
- Partner closely with client leadership to deliver on program objectives and continuous improvement initiatives
- Foster a culture of safety teamwork and service excellence
