Job Description

Tandem Hospitality Group, a distinguished hospitality management company, is thrilled to announce the upcoming opening of Hotel Tristan in Pensacola, Florida, scheduled for early summer. Renowned for its commitment to boutique hotels and chef-driven restaurants, Tandem Hospitality Group is characterized by a hands-on, operator-led approach that emphasizes collaboration, ownership, and accountability. At the core of their philosophy—pedal together, win together—is a deep belief that exceptional hospitality begins and thrives with great people dedicated to delivering excellence. Their leadership style fosters a culture where team members are encouraged to think like business owners, lead with intention, and contribute to creating sustainable and high-performing environments that resonate with shared vision and accountability.

Joining the pre-opening team at Hotel Tristan presents a unique and exciting opportunity for hospitality professionals eager to be part of building an extraordinary guest experience from the ground up. The property offers a full-service, lifestyle boutique hotel experience, blending local culture and modern amenities to captivate guests and define a new standard of quality in Pensacola. As a key player in the hotel's foundational phase, team members will play an integral role in shaping operations, setting brand standards, and contributing to the ongoing success and growth of the property within this vibrant market.

The General Manager position at Hotel Tristan is a full-time, exempt role that reports directly to the Regional Director of Operations. This leadership opportunity places the General Manager at the helm of the entire hotel operation, where they will be responsible for strategic and operational excellence across multiple departments including Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Sales & Marketing, and Engineering. The successful candidate will oversee and drive all aspects of business performance, guest satisfaction, team development, and financial achievement, balancing strategic foresight with hands-on leadership.

The General Manager's responsibilities are comprehensive, requiring a dynamic and experienced leader who can oversee complex operations, maintain strict adherence to brand and company standards, and foster a culture of accountability and service excellence. The role involves collaborating closely with corporate leadership and department heads to support pricing strategies, labor management, cost control, and operational efficiency. Additionally, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies forms a major component of the role.

A hallmark of this role is people leadership—developing department leaders and staff to build a resilient, capable leadership bench that champions continuous improvement and operational effectiveness. The General Manager is accountable for driving an exceptional guest experience through consistent service delivery and proactive issue resolution. Maintaining awareness of local market conditions, competitor activity, and demand trends is essential for aligning the hotel’s positioning and maximizing revenue opportunities.

Physically, the role demands regular presence throughout the property, facilitating frequent walkthroughs, operational inspections, and engagement with team members and guests alike. The General Manager must be flexible with scheduling, often working evenings, weekends, and holidays to ensure operational needs and business goals are met. This position represents a significant leadership opportunity for a seasoned professional ready to contribute to a landmark hotel opening while advancing their career within an innovative, supportive hospitality group.
