Job Requirements

  • At least 6 years progressive hotel or related experience
  • or 4-year college degree with 4 to 5 years related experience
  • or 2-year college degree with 5 to 6 years related experience
  • ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10 pounds frequently

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Tour the operating departments daily, making adjustments as needed via department heads
  • conduct weekly staff meetings including training sessions and sales/operations reviews
  • meet all financial review dates and corporate programs timely
  • hold monthly financial reviews with department managers
  • ensure department heads maintain budgeted productivity and standard accounting procedures
  • develop managers for advancement via training programs
  • lead daily HHBR meetings with Director of Sales focusing on prospecting calls and business results
  • play a pivotal role in sales efforts including client calls and hosting events
  • participate in M.O.D. coverage as scheduled
  • maintain direct contact with management trainees
  • adhere and train others on Highgate policies and procedures
  • assist in budget process as required
  • ensure departmental training in service standards
  • create a positive, guest-focused team environment
  • inspect rooms regularly with Housekeeping Manager and Property Engineer
  • ensure daily invoice processing
  • submit monthly financial documents to Corporate Office in compliance with accounting calendar
  • oversee cleanliness and maintenance of property
  • ensure employee attentiveness and courteousness
  • forecast monthly financial position and perform accurate reforecasting
  • conduct management interviews and ensure compliance with hiring procedures
  • interview all final management candidates before offers
  • perform performance appraisals for Executive Committee
  • motivate and discipline management personnel per company SOPs
  • perform duties as requested by Vice President or Regional Director
  • ensure fair treatment of employees
  • meet clients on property to assist sales
  • be present in public areas during peak times
  • enforce procedures for hotel safe security and audits
  • conduct monthly credit meetings and oversee credit policies
  • complete required corporate training and certifications
  • ensure scheduled meetings take place on property
