Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree in hotel management or equivalent experience
Minimum 2 years of experience as an assistant general manager or 3 years of hotel operations experience in a supervisory role with a strong food and beverage background
2 years of experience in direct sales or retail trade or equivalent combination of education and experience
Valid driver’s license and ability to drive to customer appointments
Proficiency with computer applications including word processing, spreadsheets, and property management systems
Excellent communication, presentation, organizational, time management, and listening skills
Strong analytical skills for business measurement
Ability to interact effectively with all levels of customers and management

Job Duties

Recruit, onboard, develop, set schedules, and manage associates to drive productivity and efficiency
Promote strong two-way communication across departmental lines to create a team environment among employees
Create and maintain employee recognition systems and strategies to reward excellence, retain top talent, and foster career development
Lead the preparation, development, and implementation of the annual budget for the hotel
Develop short term and long term financial and operational plans to support overall budget objectives
Ensure compliance with company policies and local, state, and federal laws
Continuously monitor hotel performance through guest satisfaction systems and financial reports
Develop new programs to increase guest satisfaction and operational excellence
Drive operational excellence through process improvement, proactive planning, and service recovery initiatives
Establish and maintain human resource functions for employee motivation, training, wage/benefit administration and regulatory compliance
Implement preventative maintenance programs to protect hotel assets
Maintain security functions to protect hotel assets and personal safety of employees and guests
Implement and maintain local and national sales, marketing, and revenue programs
Develop sales action plans and evaluate trends to enhance revenues
Represent the hotel within the Arlington and hospitality communities
