The General Manager role at Envue Hotel and Residence Inn represents a critical leadership position, responsible for overseeing all operational facets of these dual-branded properties. Reporting directly to the Regional Vice President and ownership, the General Manager will be responsible for driving service excellence, operational efficiency, and financial performance in a high-volume property setting. This role demands a seasoned hospitality professional with intimate knowledge of Marriott systems, brand standards, and union labor relations to navigate the complexities and dynamics unique to a union hotel environment successfully. The successful candidate will be charged with leading and coordinating all departments to consistently meet service, quality, and operational goals. This includes ensuring the achievement of revenue targets, gross operating profit (GOP), and net operating income (NOI). Through close collaboration with Revenue Management, the General Manager will optimize tools such as One Yield for macro-level forecasting and strategic business planning. Additionally, the General Manager will utilize reporting systems such as QPower and M-Dash to analyze performance data and implement measures that enhance guest experience, accountability, and overall hotel performance. Managing labor relations is a cornerstone of this position, requiring the General Manager to maintain positive, compliant interactions with union representatives and staff while ensuring that all operational practices are in strict alignment with collective bargaining agreements and legal standards. Navigating grievances and negotiations effectively, alongside HR and legal teams, is essential to maintaining harmony and operational continuity. The General Manager will lead initiatives to advance service excellence by leveraging tools like Medallia metrics and QA/BSA standards, focusing on guest recovery and loyalty program effectiveness. The role also involves collaborating with Sales and Marketing teams to execute eCommerce and group sales strategies, overseeing more than 5,000 square feet of meeting space, and driving substantial revenue from catering, with annual targets exceeding $1 million. Maintaining relationships with key clients, community partners, and business leaders will be integral to sustaining the hotel’s market position and reputation. Beyond operational duties, the General Manager will champion a positive, inclusive, and accountable team environment, supporting progressive career development and succession planning within the property. Job Requirements

  • 2+ years as a General Manager with Marriott
  • 5+ years as a GM in a full-service hotel environment
  • Current or prior experience as GM at a hotel generating $10M+ in annual revenue
  • Experience managing a hotel with 5,000+ sq ft meeting space and $1M+ in catering revenue
  • Progressive hotel leadership roles over the last 10 years
  • Must be able to demonstrate hands-on experience with QA and BSA audits
  • Medallia scoring and service recovery
  • One Yield (macro-level, revenue strategy
