Currently, Creative Dining Services is seeking a General Food Service Worker to join their team at Knoxville Catholic in Knoxville, TN. This role is designed to support food service operations by performing a wide range of duties related to preparing and serving food and beverages in various food service environments. The General Food Service Worker plays a crucial role in maintaining the day-to-day functionality of food service areas through responsibilities such as setting up kitchen and service areas, assisting with meal preparation, serving customers, and maintaining cleanliness and sanitation. This position offers hours from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm, Monday through Friday, making it suitable for those seeking part-time opportunities.
The General Food Service Worker will frequently assist with tasks such as setting up food service areas including kitchen and salad stations, checking food temperatures, helping prepare both hot and cold meals as well as beverages, and serving food items to customers following specific instructions. The worker is also expected to ensure the replenishment of foods, utensils, and condiments at serving stations and perform sanitary cleaning duties including washing dishes, utensils, pots, and pans, as well as maintaining floors and work areas. Job Duties
- Sets up food service, kitchen, or salad area facilities, equipment and utensils under detailed instruction
- checks food temperatures and/or prepares areas for daily operations
- may operate cooking or bakery equipment as assigned
- prepares or assists in the preparation of hot and cold meals and beverages
- serves food items to customers from counters and/or steam tables, ensuring appropriate portions are served
- replenishes foods, silverware, glassware, dishes, and trays at serving stations
- may order and replenish condiments
- cleans and maintains work areas, including floors, facilities, dishes, utensils, and equipment
- collects and places garbage and trash in designated containers
- washes pots, pans, and other serviceware
- organizes and replaces serviceware to appropriate location
- performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
