Currently, Creative Dining Services is seeking General Food Service Workers for its operations at Northpoint Christian School in Southaven, Mississippi. This role offers an employment schedule from 7:30 am to 2:30 pm, Monday through Friday, making it an ideal position for individuals looking for a consistent daytime work schedule. The position involves a mix of responsibilities centered around food preparation, service, and general upkeep of the food service environment, ensuring that all food safety and quality standards are met while providing excellent customer service.

As a General Food Service Worker, you will be responsible for setting up and maintaining food service areas including kitchen and salad stations, preparing and serving hot and cold meals, and managing various operational duties such as food temperature checks and equipment preparation under careful instruction. You will also play a vital role in maintaining cleanliness in the service areas, washing utensils, and handling refuse disposal to adhere to sanitary regulations. This role may also require you to assist with cashiering duties, contributing to a smooth and efficient customer service experience.

The successful candidate will have a foundational understanding of basic food service operations along with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members. Experience as a cashier and a comfort level in working in a customer-facing environment will be highly beneficial. Basic reading and math skills are required to accurately follow food preparation directions and manage portions appropriately.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Basic reading and math skills
  • Effective communication in the primary language(s) of the work location
  • Ability to perform physical tasks related to food service
  • Availability to work Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 2:30 pm
  • Prior cashier experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Sets up food service, kitchen, or salad area facilities and equipment under instruction
  • Checks food temperatures and prepares areas for daily operations
  • Prepares or assists in the preparation of hot and cold meals and beverages
  • Serves food items to customers ensuring appropriate portions
  • Replenishes foods, silverware, glassware, dishes, and trays
  • Cleans and maintains work areas including floors, dishes, utensils, and equipment
  • Collects and disposes of garbage and trash appropriately
  • Washes pots, pans, and serviceware ensuring sanitary handling
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
