The Game and Event Management Assistant role is an essential position within the Arena Operations department, focused on supporting athletic events at UNO with an emphasis on comprehensive game-day operations, event coordination, and specialized support for League One Volleyball (LOVB) games. This part-time, non-benefit eligible role operates under the leadership of the Associate Athletic Director for Event Management. The main purpose is to assist with effective event execution and interdepartmental communication, allowing for seamless operations of athletic contests and events. The assistant manages game-day setup, execution, and teardown, while coordinating communication among visiting teams, officials, and event staff.

This position requires a candidate who can work on-site regularly, including Mondays and Tuesdays for coordination, planning meetings, and designated event schedules. The ideal candidate should have knowledge of NCAA game management rules, associated equipment, and the roles and duties of staff at athletic events. Given the physical demands of the job, the candidate must be capable of sitting, standing, and walking in arena spaces, with the ability to see, hear, speak clearly, and operate various event equipment.

The working environment typically involves indoor settings within the arena and athletic facilities, with noise levels varying from low during preparations to moderate-to-high during live events and volleyball matches. This position offers a salary commensurate with experience, providing a valuable opportunity for those interested in gaining experience in athletic event management within a vibrant university setting.
