Job Requirements
- Graduated from an accredited school or college of mortuary science
- current Funeral Director and Embalmer dual license within the practicing state
- valid state driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- industry experience preferred
- cognitive ability to reason, plan, and learn quickly
- motivated to keep projects advancing by removing obstacles
- positive attitude and high self-motivation
- ability to build professional and trusting business relations
- proficient in professional written and verbal communication
- public speaking skills
- proficient in using automated databases and MS Office
- ability to comply with local, state, and federal regulations
- flexible availability to work nights and weekends
- physical ability to perform manual tasks including pushing and pulling up to 150 pounds
Job Qualifications
- Graduated from an accredited school or college of mortuary science
- current Funeral Director and Embalmer dual license within the practicing state
- valid state driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- professional written and verbal communication skills
- public speaking skills with ability to influence and gain consensus
- proficient in database and MS Office applications
- ability to build professional and trusting business relations
- motivated and process oriented with positive attitude
Job Duties
- Facilitates funeral arrangement discussions with deceased next of kin
- presides over visitation, funeral, and graveside services
- performs embalming responsibilities following company procedures
- plans and coordinates funeral events including music, flowers, catering, and memorial products
- acts as Master of Ceremonies during all services
- communicates with families to fulfill death care requests and obtains leads for pre-need services
- ensures compliance with mortuary, health, and vital statistics regulations
- maintains preparation room and equipment
- inventories and reorders supplies
- performs attendant duties such as driving, ushering, and pallbearer as needed
- represents the establishment at community and charity events
