As a full-time Store Associate at ALDI, you will play a vital role in maintaining the store's operational excellence and delivering a superior shopping experience for customers. This position typically requires 30 or more hours per week and offers a competitive starting wage of $18.00 per hour, with structured wage increases over subsequent years, reaching up to $20.00 per hour by the fifth year. Your responsibilities will encompass merchandise stocking, cashiering, customer service, and general upkeep of the store environment.

Your day-to-day duties will involve collaborating closely with the ALDI team to ensure shelves are stocked according to merchandising planograms, processing customer purchases accurately via the point-of-sale system, and providing friendly and efficient service to shoppers. You will be expected to model outstanding customer service principles, handle order fulfillment for curbside pickups, and actively contribute to store management’s goals related to operational efficiency and loss prevention. Additionally, you will support maintaining a safe and clean working environment by identifying hazards, performing routine cleaning tasks, and adhering strictly to inventory and health safety procedures.

The physical demands of this role require the ability to lift up to 45 pounds, operate various store equipment like pallet jacks, floor scrubbers, and cash registers, and work in different temperature zones including freezers and coolers. Your attention to detail, communication skills, ability to multitask, and strong work ethic will be crucial in excelling at this position. Job Requirements

  • At least 18 years old required
  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • prior work experience in a retail environment preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service
  • ability to operate all store equipment such as cash registers, floor scrubber, cardboard baler, pallet jacks, handheld devices, computers, etc
  • ability to interpret and apply ALDI operating policies and procedures
  • ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing

  • ability to follow instructions and pay attention to detail

Job Duties

  • Model and fulfill all customer service principles and escalate concerns to store management as necessary
  • inform store management of loss due to outdated or damaged products
  • properly utilize the point-of-sale (POS) system to accurately scan and process customer purchases and inform store management of scanning concerns or errors
  • adhere to cash policies and procedures
  • follow the line policy and open additional check lanes as required to ensure an efficient checkout
  • stock shelves and displays neatly while following merchandising planograms to maximize sales
  • complete curbside pickup orders by accurately retrieving items from the store, verifying order contents, and ensuring timely delivery to customers’ vehicles from the staging area
  • maintain zone standards and merchandising standards at all times
  • assist store management in achieving operational efficiency goals
  • assist store management in achieving total loss goals
  • comply with all established company policies and processes
  • support store management in providing a safe working environment by identifying and rectifying hazards, ensuring proper ergonomics, and maintaining equipment in proper working order
  • adhere to inventory procedures and product handling guidelines
  • perform general cleaning tasks to company standards
