Job Description

Our company is a prestigious personal chef service dedicated to providing exceptional culinary experiences to our clients. We specialize in tailored meal preparation for busy individuals and families, ensuring high-quality, nutritious, and delicious meals that meet diverse dietary preferences and lifestyles. Unlike traditional restaurant settings, our company emphasizes work-life balance, creativity, and growth, fostering an environment where culinary professionals can thrive beyond the conventional kitchen roles. Located within a dynamic and supportive framework, we invest heavily in our chefs through mentorship, hands-on training, and career development programs, promising a rewarding and fulfilling career path. Our full-time personal chef positions run Monday through Friday from 8 am to 6 pm, offering evenings and weekends free—an attractive schedule for culinary professionals seeking regular hours and a balanced lifestyle. With a pay range of $27-30 per hour, this role not only provides competitive compensation but also an expansive range of benefits including health, dental, and vision insurance after 90 days, retirement plans with 401k matching, paid time off, and profit sharing. This role is tailored for culinary professionals eager to showcase their talents and creativity by handling weekly grocery shopping, meal planning, cooking, and comprehensive kitchen cleanup for 8-9 clients per week. Each week presents a unique opportunity to prepare dishes across various cuisines, allowing chefs to refine their skills and cultivate meaningful relationships with clients who appreciate personalized culinary care. In addition to weekly meal service, personal chefs in our company often host intimate private dining events and dinner parties that challenge creativity and presentation skills. Chefs also have opportunities to teach cooking classes as culinary instructors or to lead corporate team-building cooking workshops—roles that enable chefs to expand their expertise and influence in the culinary community. They may also support special projects such as menu design and event catering, exposing them to various facets of culinary arts and business management. What differentiates this role from typical sous chef or line cook positions in restaurants is the predictable work schedule, creative freedom in menu planning, and direct client interaction, which fosters both professional satisfaction and personal connections. Working with us means being part of a team that values initiative, creativity, relationship building, and professional growth. We also offer a clear career pathway allowing our chefs to ascend to roles such as private chef, event chef, or culinary leader, combined with financial advancement opportunities including raises based on performance evaluations at the one-year mark. We seek candidates with at least four years of cooking experience, a sense of urgency, outstanding people skills, and attention to detail. Required certifications include ServSafe Manager certification and state-specific allergen training. A reliable vehicle is necessary as travel may be required during training, with all travel expenses compensated by the company. Familiarity with digital communication tools like email, Google Workspaces, and social media is preferred. All hires must pass a background check and are verified through E-Verify for employment eligibility. We encourage potential candidates to submit a cover letter and participate in our multi-step interview process, which includes a 15-minute fit call, video interview, a bench test cooking exercise (reimbursed), and a paid full-day stage. This comprehensive process ensures a good match between the chef and our company culture. Ultimately, our goal is to support culinary professionals who aspire to grow creatively and professionally while enjoying a balanced work schedule and excellent benefits.
