Job Description
Lowe's Companies, Inc. (NYSE: LOW) is a Fortune 100 home improvement company recognized as a leading retailer in the home improvement industry. Serving approximately 16 million customer transactions weekly, it boasts total fiscal year 2025 sales exceeding $86 billion. With a workforce of about 300,000 associates, Lowe's operates over 1,700 home improvement stores, 530 branches, and 130 distribution centers throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Headquartered in Mooresville, North Carolina, the company is dedicated not only to providing extensive home improvement solutions but also to supporting the communities it serves. Its community engagement initiatives include promoting safe and affordable housing, enhancing community spaces, fostering the next generation of skilled trade experts, and offering disaster relief where needed.
The role of a Customer Service Associate (CSA) at Lowe's is crucial for ensuring exemplary customer experiences by faithfully following Lowe's customer service policies, procedures, and programs. CSAs play an essential role in guiding customers through their shopping journey by identifying their needs and assisting them in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, or loading merchandise. They use active listening and product knowledge to respond to customer inquiries, offer solutions, and provide detailed information on product features, warranties, and Lowe's special programs.
This position requires excellent communication skills and an ability to coach, develop, and train fellow associates, enhancing team performance and customer interactions. CSAs handle cash registers for processing sales transactions, returns, and refunds, ensuring compliance with company standards. They are responsible for maintaining register functionality, verifying product and price information, and managing store use records. Security and loss prevention also fall under their purview, with duties including monitoring entrances, detecting signs of shoplifting, and reporting suspicious activities to management or Asset Protection.
Additionally, they contribute to the store’s housekeeping by keeping aisles clear and the store organized, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and maintaining a secure work environment. Depending on departmental needs, CSAs operate various store equipment such as cash recyclers, copiers, CCTV systems, paint mixers, and more. This multifaceted role demands adaptability and a readiness to undertake other duties as assigned, making it a dynamic and rewarding career choice for those interested in retail and customer service within a large, supportive company framework. Employment at Lowe’s offers opportunities for personal and professional growth in a company committed to inclusivity and equal opportunity.
