With a network consisting of over 250 neighborhood stores, Ace Retail Group prides itself on delivering exceptional customer service and fostering strong community connections. ARG operates with a deep commitment to Core Values that guide every aspect of their business — from how they manage their operations to their interactions with customers and employees. These values include winning through performance and fun, striving for excellence, cultivating love for people and work, upholding integrity, embodying gratitude, maintaining humility, and promoting teamwork. This commitment to core principles has made Ace Retail Group a trusted and respected name in the retail hardware industry.
This particular role is for a Full-time Floor Supervisor at Store 211 in Chicago, IL. The Floor Supervisor plays a vital leadership role within the store's team, responsible for managing day-to-day store operations as well as stepping in to lead in the absence of the General Manager or Assistant Managers. This position requires a hands-on, proactive leader who is comfortable engaging with customers and associates alike, projecting a positive representation of Westlake Ace Hardware.
In this role, the Floor Supervisor will manage and direct store staff to meet company goals, ensuring an efficient, well-organized, and customer-friendly retail environment. Responsibilities span across several operational aspects including customer service, merchandising, inventory control, and daily store maintenance. The Floor Supervisor has the important duty of opening and closing the store and maintaining store cleanliness and order throughout the day. Strong product knowledge and familiarity with store layout are crucial to assist customers effectively and ensure that all merchandising and pricing updates are executed accurately and on time.
Leadership and teamwork are central to this position. The Floor Supervisor leads by example, fosters a professional and safe workplace, and plays an integral role in training associates. Collaboration with store management is key, as the Floor Supervisor works closely with the General Manager, Assistant Manager - Operations, and Assistant Manager - Merchandising to communicate operational issues, implement programs from the Store Support Center, and support loss prevention and safety standards. This role also involves overseeing cashiering functions such as training, audits, and report preparation.
Inventory management duties include ensuring forklift operations are conducted safely, overseeing merchandise receiving, stocking, and maintaining back stock levels. Assistance with cycle counts, negative on hand report accuracy, merchandise resets, and maintaining current signage contribute to a vibrant and organized sales floor. The Floor Supervisor also ensures promotional displays and incremental merchandising strategies are effectively presented.
Candidates for this role should have a high school diploma or GED equivalent, with retail management experience preferred, particularly within the hardware sector. Physical demands include standing, walking, lifting up to 25 pounds, and climbing. The compensation range for this position is $18 to $19 per hour, reflecting the responsibility and skill required to succeed in this leadership role.
Through this role, the Floor Supervisor has the opportunity to grow professionally by preparing for future advancement within the company, contributing to a culture of excellence, and representing a brand that values people, performance, and integrity.
