This position is part of a reputable auction company specializing in vehicle auctions. The company operates in a fast-paced environment where efficiency, safety, and customer service are paramount. As a well-established business in the auction industry, they handle the staging, moving, and selling of a large number of vehicles. The company is known for its commitment to safety, operational excellence, and employee well-being. The role is a full-time position with a scheduled work week primarily from Tuesday through Saturday with varying hours, designed to align with the auction activities and business needs. The pay rate is $17.00 per hour, reflecting the importance of the responsibilities entrusted to the successful candidate.
The position entails the safe and efficient moving, staging, and parking of vehicles on the auction property. This includes driving vehicles to and from auction lots as well as to and from customer businesses such as dealerships. On designated sale days, the role involves driving vehicles through sale lanes in compliance with safety rules and auction regulations. The position requires a high level of attentiveness to detail for vehicle placement, ensuring cars are lined up correctly and moved as necessary. The employee will also assist with operational maintenance tasks such as inflating tires or jump-starting vehicles. Customer service is another key element, as the role supports dealers, account representatives, and rental agencies requiring assistance during auction processes. Safety is a core value in this role, with expectations for actively demonstrating commitment through following all safety guidelines, participating in safety programs, and modeling exemplary behaviors. Additional duties may be assigned by management depending on business demands, which may include working overtime when required. - High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous auction experience preferred
Job Duties
- Drive vehicles through auction lanes on sale day in a safe manner
- Drive vehicles to and from designated areas on auction premises and to and from customer dealerships and businesses, while observing Auction driving rules, rules of the road and demonstrating courtesy and defensive driving principles
- Line up and park vehicles in the correct order as directed by supervisor or team leader, move vehicles as necessary, and locate lost vehicles
- Assist with getting vehicles operating as needed, inflate tires and jump start vehicles using a battery box and air tank, notify supervisor when a vehicle is inoperative
- Assist customers and coworkers as needed
- Visibly demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures and modeling the behaviors related to such, actively participate in support of all safety activities aligned with Safety Excellence
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
- May be required to work overtime as business needs dictate
