We are currently hiring Cooks who are skilled culinary professionals passionate about food and hospitality. In this full-time PM shift role (Friday through Monday) with an anticipated pay range of $24-$29 per hour, you'll play a vital role in supporting the health and happiness of our residents through the preparation and serving of delicious, nourishing meals tailored to their unique dietary needs. This position is ideal for individuals who lead with care, consistency, and integrity, thrive in a collaborative team setting, and have a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of those living with memory impairments. At Silverado, cooks are not just food preparers; they are essential providers of comfort and joy, using creativity and attention to detail to ensure every meal meets high standards of quality, safety, and presentation.
The Cook’s responsibilities include preparing and modifying meals according to specific nutritional requirements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in food service, and maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment. This role demands not only culinary skills such as grilling, sautéing, broiling, frying, and baking but also effective communication abilities and a strong understanding of food safety regulations. Candidates should be comfortable working around individuals with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia and have the physical stamina to actively engage in kitchen duties, including walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Reliable transportation and a Food Handlers Certificate are also essential. Joining Silverado means becoming part of a dedicated team that values respect, compassion, and professional growth while contributing to a trusted leader in aging services.
