The Line Cook position at StoryPoint Chattanooga offers a full-time opportunity for culinary professionals passionate about creating nourishing and delicious meals for seniors and guests. Scheduled from 11 am to 7 pm, Tuesday through Sunday, this role is essential to maintaining high standards in the community’s dining services. As a line cook, you will be responsible for preparing food in strict accordance with menus, recipes, and special event plans designed for residents and their guests. You will work in an innovative and supportive environment where dedication and hard work are recognized and advancement opportunities exist.
The position demands culinary skill, attention to detail, and a positive team-oriented attitude. You will be involved in every aspect of food preparation, including cooking, plating according to portion guidelines, and garnishing to ensure visually appealing presentations. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of three years of line cook experience and/or training
- Good communication skills
- Ability to stand for long periods
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to use hands and arms effectively
- Ability to work in a moderately noisy environment
- Occasional travel to different locations
- Commitment to resident privacy, dignity, and well-being
- Ability to follow safety and sanitation protocols
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Technical school training preferred
- Minimum of three years of line cook experience and/or training

Job Duties
- Cook and prepare food for residents, guests, and employees
- Prepare food according to the planned menu using standard recipes
- Plate food items following portion guidelines and garnishing instructions
- Assist other kitchen staff as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
- Ensure that sufficient food is prepped and/or prepared
- Communicate with supervisor of shortages or outages
- Ensure freshness, cooking status, and proper seasoning of all foods served
- Stock and clean station for next shift
- Follow proper food rotation policies
- Consistently maintain a positive attitude which supports a team environment
- Promote positive public relations with residents, family members, and guests
- Maintain safety including universal precautions and safe work practices
- Clean and inspect kitchen appliances and work areas to ensure cleanliness and functionality
- Present a professional appearance by wearing uniform and name tag
