Job Description
ALDI is a global leader in the retail grocery industry, renowned for its commitment to delivering high-quality products at affordable prices. Established over four decades ago, ALDI has grown to operate thousands of stores worldwide, emphasizing efficiency, sustainability, and exceptional customer service. The company has a steadfast dedication to ensuring customers enjoy a streamlined shopping experience through well-organized stores, innovative product selections, and competitive pricing. ALDI's workplace culture promotes diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunities, making it a preferred employer for many in the retail sector. The company offers a variety of career opportunities, focusing on growth, employee development, and work-life balance.
Joining ALDI as an Assistant Store Manager means stepping into a critical leadership role that supports the smooth day-to-day operation of the store while helping to drive sales and customer satisfaction. This full-time position averages 38 hours per week, starting at a competitive wage of $27.50 per hour with a scheduled increase to $28.50 per hour in the second year, reflecting ALDI's commitment to rewarding employee growth and tenure.
In this role, the Assistant Store Manager works closely with the Store Manager to develop and implement operational action plans aimed at improving overall store performance. Responsibilities include supervising the store team, managing schedules, facilitating training and development opportunities, and ensuring that store policies and procedures are followed. The position requires excellent organizational skills, leadership capabilities, and a proactive approach to customer service and operational efficiency. It also demands attentiveness to detail in merchandise presentation, inventory management, and adherence to safety and cleanliness standards.
The Assistant Store Manager is expected to foster a collaborative team environment by communicating clearly, establishing performance expectations, and modeling ALDI's core values. This role involves monitoring the competitive landscape to maintain a strong community presence and providing valuable product feedback to management. The position also requires handling operational challenges constructively in the absence of the Store Manager, ensuring consistent customer service excellence and store upkeep.
Physical requirements involve the ability to lift and stock merchandise, including handling products weighing up to 45 pounds, and engaging in regular movement throughout the store, such as standing, walking, bending, and reaching. This ensures the store operates efficiently and maintains its high standards. Candidates must be able to perform these duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
ALDI values experience and education, preferring candidates with a high school diploma or equivalent and at least three years of progressive retail experience, ideally with some management background. The role is suited for individuals who can work independently and lead teams, demonstrating strong communication and decision-making skills. The company supports employee advancement and offers comprehensive benefits that enhance job satisfaction and personal well-being.
If you are motivated by retail management, eager to contribute to a dynamic and growing company, and committed to delivering superior customer experiences, the Assistant Store Manager role at ALDI offers an excellent opportunity to develop your career in a supportive setting with competitive compensation and benefits.
