The Assistant Store Manager at ALDI plays a vital role in supporting the daily operations and overall performance of the store. The position offers a starting wage of $25.50 per hour with an increase to $26.50 per hour in the second year. Job Requirements

Must be 18 years of age or older
Ability to provide and lead courteous customer service
Ability to develop rapport, trust, and open communication with team members
Ability to interpret and apply company policies and procedures

Ability to understand and apply budgeting and expense management

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Minimum of 3 years progressive experience in a retail environment
Prior management experience preferred
Ability to work independently and within a team
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to lead and develop others
Strong organizational and multitasking skills
Ability to operate a cash register efficiently and accurately
Knowledge of management principles related to budgeting and personnel costs
Ability to safely operate equipment such as hand jacks and floor scrubbers
Meets state and local requirements for handling alcoholic beverages

Job Duties

Assist the direct leader with developing and implementing action plans to improve operating results
Establish and communicate job responsibilities and performance expectations to direct reports
Identify training and development opportunities for direct reports
Understand company strategy and model core values to foster teamwork
Monitor competitive environment and inform direct leader of necessary adjustments
Provide product feedback and recommend new or discontinued items
Participate in interviewing store personnel
Communicate weekly information, milestones, developments, and concerns
Ensure adherence to inventory procedures, product handling guidelines, and cash control policies
Resolve operational customer concerns in direct leader's absence
Identify and rectify hazards and maintain store equipment
Maintain store cleanliness standards and proper signage
Assist with maintaining stock levels through product ordering
Merchandise products neatly to maximize sales
Ensure quality and freshness of products and accuracy of signage
Assist with achieving payroll and total loss budget, inventory counts, and training new employees
Supervise day-to-day operations of the team and escalate issues when needed
Ensure timely and effective completion of responsibilities by direct reports
Comply with company policies while maintaining security and confidentiality
Perform other duties as assigned
