Job Description

Panda Restaurant Group, Inc., founded in Glendale, California in 1983, is the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept in the United States, with close to 2,800 locations globally. The company is committed to delivering exceptional Asian dining experiences and building an organization where people are inspired to better their lives. Panda Restaurant Group encompasses various dining concepts, including the original Panda Inn fine dining restaurants, Panda Express (a fast-casual gourmet Chinese food concept), and Hibachi San, a Japanese grill concept. The company remains family-owned and operated by its founders Andrew and Peggy Cherng, emphasizing a culture grounded in family values, growth, respect, and excellence in operations. They invest deeply in their people, believing that great operations stem from great employees. The organization offers competitive benefits and rewarding opportunities for growth, ranging from entry-level roles to management positions, and prides itself on a supportive, inclusive workplace environment that values proactive behaviors, respect, growth, and giving back to the communities they serve. The Panda team is dedicated to nurturing a supportive culture, reflected by their mission and five fundamental values: Proactive, Respect/Win-Win, Growth, Great Operations, and Giving.

This particular opportunity is for a Full Service Restaurant Bartender located in Glendale, CA, within the Panda Inn restaurant setting. The position requires a courteous and enthusiastic communication style, a clean and neat appearance, and the ability to handle a fast-paced environment. Panda offers flexible schedules, great pay starting between $16.9 to $19.9 per hour depending on experience and location, and benefits for full-time associates including medical, dental, vision, disability and cancer income protection insurance, 401K with company match, vacation and sick leave, and associate discounts. Additionally, employees receive hands-on paid training, opportunities for career and leadership development, referral bonuses, and the chance to be a part of one of the nation's fastest-growing Asian restaurant companies. Panda Restaurant Group prioritizes workplace diversity and equal opportunity, ensuring a discrimination-free environment respecting all legally protected characteristics. The company also complies fully with the Americans with Disabilities Act, providing reasonable accommodations throughout the hiring process and employment. This position requires candidates to be at least 18 years old, a high school graduate (restaurant experience is preferred but not mandatory), and able to maintain good personal hygiene and communication skills. The role may involve standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, working in a hot kitchen environment, and adapting quickly to dynamic and sometimes challenging service situations, making it a demanding yet rewarding position suitable for motivated candidates seeking growth and stability in the hospitality industry.
