The Fuel and Lube Technician role is an essential position within the ranch's shop team, supporting the daily operations by ensuring all field equipment is properly fueled, lubricated, and maintained for optimal performance. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of three years equipment maintenance, fueling, or fleet service experience
  • Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License
  • Ability to obtain HazMat, Tanker, and Air Brake endorsements within 60 days of hire
  • Experience operating a service truck in agricultural, construction, or similar environments preferred
  • Working knowledge of fueling systems and basic mechanical systems
  • Understanding of safe fuel and lubricant handling
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication
  • High attention to detail
  • Basic computer skills

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Three or more years of equipment maintenance, fueling, or fleet service experience aligned with market norms
  • Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
  • Ability to obtain HazMat, Tanker, and Air Brake endorsements within 60 days of hire
  • Experience operating a service truck in agricultural, construction, or similar environments preferred
  • Working knowledge of fueling systems, metering equipment, and basic mechanical systems such as PTO operation
  • Understanding of safe handling of fuels, lubricants, and related equipment
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills in a fast-paced field environment
  • Effective communication skills both verbal and written
  • High attention to detail, strong observational skills, and proactive work habits
  • Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office or similar systems

Job Duties

  • Prepare fuel truck and service equipment before crews arrive
  • Drive efficient routes and follow daily fueling and lubrication plans
  • Fuel equipment and check or top off fluids including oil, hydraulic, and coolant
  • Perform basic preventive maintenance and inspect equipment for issues
  • Keep accurate fuel usage and service records
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked truck and tools
  • Follow all safety rules including OSHA and food safety requirements
  • Report safety issues, spills, leaks, or equipment problems right away
  • Complete required inspections, logs, and paperwork
  • Keep truck properly labeled and equipped with safety gear
  • Work safely to prevent injuries and accidents
  • Help team members as needed
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
