Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum of 2 years cooking experience
  • excellent customer service skills
  • team attitude supporting other kitchen employees
  • ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • ability to work in hot, humid or cold environments

  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices

Job Duties

  • Prepare food items according to established recipes and menus
  • utilize batch cooking techniques to avoid over or under production
  • maintain established logs for food temperatures and equipment
  • monitor kitchen equipment for proper functioning and report discrepancies
  • open and/or close the kitchen including securing doors and essential equipment
  • hold prepared food items at appropriate temperatures
  • store food items using proper labeling and dating
  • communicate production and operational needs to supervisor promptly
