We are currently looking to hire a Front Desk Agent, a vital role within our front office team responsible for ensuring that guests have a smooth and enjoyable experience from the moment they arrive until their departure. This position involves greeting guests with warmth and professionalism, efficiently managing check-ins and check-outs, and assisting with reservations and inquiries in a prompt and courteous manner. The Front Desk Agent will be adept at handling all financial transactions accurately, including cash, checks, and credit card payments, while maintaining a comprehensive understanding of our front office systems and hotel policies.

In this role, you will play a crucial part in managing the guest experience by verifying special requests, managing room blocks, and understanding the hotel's rate structures and discount policies. You will also be responsible for following established procedures for cancellations and room relocations when necessary. The ability to work efficiently under pressure, along with excellent communication skills, will be essential for success in this role.

This is a full-time position that may require flexibility in working hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to meet the needs of our guests and ensure smooth front office operations.

Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in front desk or customer service preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic computer literacy and ability to learn hotel front office systems
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Team-oriented mindset with a positive attitude

Job Duties

  • Greet and communicate cordially with guests promptly and professionally checking them in and out of the hotel
  • Assist in pre-registration and blocking of reservations when necessary
  • Promptly accurately and efficiently know how and where to post all charges
  • Have complete working knowledge of Front Office computer or manual system including all daily transactions and those which are not performed often
  • Accurately manage cash handling including receiving cash checks and credit card information from guests for payment of hotel charges and making change correctly
  • Review any reservations with special requests and work to block rooms accordingly
  • Have knowledge of hotel rates discounts and how to handle each
  • Have working knowledge of reservations and procedures including how to take same day reservations and know and follow cancellation procedures and relocation procedures when necessary
