Job Description
M&F is an esteemed hospitality establishment recognized for its dedication to offering an exceptional coffee and Latin American cuisine experience. As a premier hospitality house, M&F strives to create memorable dining experiences for its guests through outstanding service, a warm atmosphere, and a passion for cultural culinary heritage. The restaurant has cultivated a reputation for excellence, blending unique flavors with superior customer interactions to establish itself as a leader in the dining industry. Their emphasis on coffee culture combined with Latin American culinary traditions creates a unique and vibrant environment for guests and staff alike.
The Front Server position at M&F serves a crucial role in bridging the gap between the restaurant's esteemed culture and its valued guests. As the ambassadors of the establishment's brand and mission, Front Servers are expected to maintain a high level of professionalism and strategic communication that reflects the values and quality of M&F. This role demands not only exceptional interpersonal skills but also a nurturing and genuine approach to cultivating long-term guest relationships. By fostering these connections from both staff and management perspectives, the Front Server helps ensure continued success and the longevity of partnerships with patrons.
In this role, communication effectiveness—both verbal and written—is vital, as the Front Server must navigate various guest interactions while maintaining composure under the pressures of a fast-paced environment. The position requires multitasking capabilities, teamwork, and organizational skills to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously. Front Servers are tasked with exceeding guest expectations by delivering efficient and friendly service, supported by their enthusiasm, energy, and broad knowledge of food, wine, and current promotions. They must ensure guests are greeted warmly, anticipate guest needs, and handle any challenges with patience and tact.
Furthermore, the Front Server supports the effective operation of Front of House duties, which include maintaining cleanliness, restocking supplies, and assisting with table settings and clearing. The role also involves proficiency with point-of-sale systems and other equipment essential to providing seamless service. Commitment to safety and sanitation standards, including adherence to allergy protocols, is critical.
The schedule for this position includes a rotating and irregular timetable encompassing nights, weekends, and holidays, with a full-time workweek generally ranging from 4-5 days and part-time options from 2-3 days depending on availability and business needs. The position requires dedication and stamina, as it involves extended periods of standing and physical activity throughout shifts.
Being a Front Server at M&F offers an enriching opportunity to be integral to a respected hospitality brand, where the focus on authentic guest experiences and cultural identity combines to create a vibrant work environment and career growth potential. Those who embrace this role contribute to shaping the restaurant's reputation and delighting guests with every interaction, underpinning M&F's goal to remain a leader in the hospitality space.
