Job Description
Republic Texas Tavern is a bar-centric, upscale casual restaurant located in the vibrant heart of North Dallas, Texas. Known for its modern and inviting atmosphere, this establishment centers around a unique U-shaped bar where guests can enjoy expertly crafted cocktails and indulge in an impressive whiskey collection boasting over 150 varieties. The restaurant specializes in chef-driven American cuisine infused with a distinct "Texas Twist," serving lunch and dinner Monday through Saturday, and featuring an exceptional Sunday brunch that attracts both locals and visitors alike. Republic Texas Tavern combines the warmth and vibrancy of a traditional Texas tavern with a contemporary dining experience that appeals to a broad clientele, including casual diners, groups celebrating special occasions, and corporate clients hosting private events. The establishment prides itself on an atmosphere that is approachable yet refined, making it a premier destination for both day-to-day dining and special gatherings.
The Front of House (FOH) Manager role at Republic Texas Tavern is a critical leadership position reporting directly to the General Manager. This individual will spearhead the management of the entire front-of-house operation, ensuring that every guest receives authentic hospitality characterized by attentive, seamless, and high-quality service. This role is designed for a proactive and dynamic leader who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with an emphasis on bar management and operational excellence. The FOH Manager will oversee bar operations including the maintenance of the extensive whiskey and cocktail programs, ensuring both quality control and cost management are adhered to meticulously. Staffing and scheduling duties are also a major component of the role, as the manager ensures optimal team coverage across various service periods including lunch, dinner, and weekend brunches.
Beyond operational oversight, the FOH Manager will be responsible for hiring, training, and mentoring the front-of-house staff—including servers, bartenders, hosts, and bussers—in line with Republic Texas Tavern's service standards and culture. Leadership by example is essential, especially during peak times when the manager will provide on-floor coaching to secure a flawless guest experience from arrival to departure. The manager will serve as the primary face of the restaurant on the floor, forging strong guest relationships and professionally handling any customer concerns with urgency and empathy. Additionally, the FOH Manager will ensure that all opening and closing procedures are executed properly, including managing cash handling processes and maintaining cleanliness and organization of the dining room, patio, and bar areas. Supporting private and semi-private events is another vital aspect of the role, requiring collaboration with the management team to deliver exceptional service for groups ranging from intimate parties to larger corporate functions.
This position demands a candidate who is adaptable, service-oriented, and possesses robust leadership abilities. It requires approximately 50 hours per week of dedication, including nights, weekends, and Sunday brunch services, demanding physical stamina and commitment. Republic Texas Tavern offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience, reflecting the importance of this pivotal role in the restaurant's continued success and reputation for excellence. This opportunity is perfect for someone passionate about the hospitality industry, ready to lead a talented team, and eager to contribute to a standout dining experience in one of North Dallas' most celebrated establishments.
