Job Description

The Whitaker Group is a renowned hospitality company operating in Pittsburgh, PA, known for its commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences through its portfolio of full-service restaurants. With a reputation for excellence, The Whitaker Group emphasizes high-quality food, impeccable service, and a welcoming atmosphere that caters to both casual diners and special event guests. Their dedication to operational excellence and guest satisfaction establishes them as a leader in the food and beverage industry within the region.

The company is currently seeking a seasoned Front of House (FOH) Manager to lead daily operations at one of its flagship full-service restaurants in Pittsburgh. This role is crucial in maintaining the elevated, guest-first environment characteristic of The Whitaker Group's establishments. The FOH Manager will be responsible for overseeing all front-of-house operations, including the dining room, bar, and event spaces, ensuring that every aspect of the guest experience is managed with care and professionalism. This position demands a hands-on leader with a balance of financial acumen and strong people management skills, capable of driving team performance and upholding brand standards.

The successful candidate will take ownership of critical operational areas such as profit and loss (P&L) reporting, labor management, and cost control measures. They will also lead inventory management and vendor coordination efforts, contributing to the restaurant's overall efficiency and profitability. Beyond operational duties, the FOH Manager will play a vital role in building and developing a high-performing team by hiring, training, scheduling, and mentoring front-of-house staff. The manager will drive guest satisfaction through attentive service oversight and professional handling of any escalated customer issues.

Events play a significant role in the restaurant's business model; therefore, the FOH Manager will also be tasked with executing private events and special programming such as buyouts and tastings. Ensuring food safety compliance and adherence to health standards among team members is another essential responsibility, aligned with Pennsylvania’s regulatory requirements, including ServSafe Manager certification and local permits.

The Whitaker Group offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package, quarterly bonus eligibility, and promising growth opportunities within their expanding food and beverage portfolio. As an equal opportunity employer, The Whitaker Group values diversity and inclusivity and invites candidates who are passionate about hospitality and operational leadership to join their team as the Front of House Manager.
