Job Description
Anne Arundel Dermatology is a distinguished leader in the field of medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology with over 50 years of dedicated service. Boasting more than 300 specialized providers and over 110 locations across seven states, this reputable healthcare system is committed to delivering exceptional, patient-centered care. The organization has established a strong presence in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast regions, continually expanding to meet the growing demand for its services. Anne Arundel Dermatology combines cutting-edge medical technology with compassionate care, ensuring patients receive comprehensive dermatological treatment in a comfortable environment.
Currently, Anne Arundel Dermatology is seeking a full-time Front Desk Receptionist for its Wilmington, NC office. This role plays a critical part in the organization by managing the front office operations and directly supporting patients through various administrative and customer service tasks. The position offers a consistent Monday through Friday schedule, totaling 40 hours per week, ideal for individuals seeking stable employment in a professional healthcare setting. The Front Desk Receptionist will serve as the initial point of contact for patients, fostering a warm and organized experience from the moment they enter the outpatient clinic.
In this capacity, the Front Desk Receptionist is responsible for a variety of key duties that include greeting patients, managing appointment scheduling, assisting with referrals, and handling patient check-in and check-out procedures. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are essential, as this professional will also manage patient records, insurance documentation, and payments such as copays and balances. Additionally, the receptionist will liaise with the insurance department to support billing-related tasks and ensure smooth office flow. Effective communication skills are paramount, as the position requires answering multi-line phones and maintaining clear, courteous interactions with patients and team members.
The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced outpatient or specialty medical practice, preferably with experience in dermatology. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations, electronic medical records (EMR), and practice management systems is highly valued to maintain patient confidentiality and streamline administrative processes. The role also demands the physical ability to remain seated for prolonged periods while occasionally standing, walking, or reaching, and the capability to lift items up to 30 pounds to assist with office supplies or equipment.
Joining Anne Arundel Dermatology as a Front Desk Receptionist represents an excellent opportunity to be part of a collaborative healthcare team committed to enhancing the patient experience. The company prioritizes employee well-being by offering comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, holidays, retirement plans, and special employee discounts on cosmetic services and products. This position also offers potential opportunities to provide coverage for other local offices, enhancing professional growth and engagement within the company.
