Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years experience processing medical referrals preferably for primary care
- bilingual in English and Spanish
- full understanding of HIPAA rules and regulations
- experience with the EMR system eClinicalWorks highly preferred
- must have effective written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
- customer service skills
- ability to establish working relationships, resolve interpersonal conflicts, and apply basic staff etiquette in dealing with others
- ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- ability to learn new procedures and adapt quickly to change
- innovative, motivated, organized, and team player
- follow through with commitments
- ability to work independently
- proactive and self-starter
- assist with coverage at other clinics when needed due to being short-staffed with mileage reimbursement
- any additional duties assigned by management to support the clinic
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent

Job Duties
- Schedule specialist appointments and/or diagnostic orders as needed
- assemble information concerning patients' clinical background and referral needs
- create and update patient information for existing and new patients in the electronic medical record platform
- anticipate, gather, and send information to insurance carrier and/or provider needed for obtaining referral or prior authorization for required preliminary testing
- coordinate appointments as needed with outside facilities and specialists
- perform other duties as assigned
