Job Description

Sonder (NASDAQ: SOND) is a leading global hospitality brand, renowned for offering premium, design-forward apartments and intimate boutique hotels tailored for the modern, savvy traveler. Founded in 2014, Sonder has revolutionized the hospitality industry by combining thoughtfully designed spaces with seamless, tech-enabled services that provide guests with a beautifully integrated experience. Spanning over 40 markets across nine countries and three continents, Sonder's properties are strategically located in some of the world’s most sought-after neighborhoods, ensuring guests enjoy the vibrant culture and unique experiences each destination offers.

The company’s commitment to innovation is evident in the digitally driven guest experience. Through the Sonder app, guests gain full control over their stay – from self check-in to 24/7 support – making travel simpler, more flexible, and more inspiring. In 2024, Sonder announced a strategic partnership with Marriott International, which has expanded its reach by integrating Sonder properties into Marriott.com and the Marriott Bonvoy app. This collaboration connects Sonder’s inventory and operational systems with the world’s largest travel loyalty platform, opening exciting possibilities for both guests and employees.

Sonder embodies a blend of tech agility and hospitality excellence. The team is passionate about delivering exceptional experiences to modern travelers while focusing on smart and sustainable growth. The company’s culture is defined by its Leadership Principles, which emphasize extending hospitality to all and fostering an environment where employees can thrive. These principles guide every decision and interaction, ensuring a workplace that values respect, inclusivity, and outstanding service.

The Front Desk Hospitality Agent role at Sonder is a versatile and dynamic position, critical to bringing the company’s values to life. Serving as the face of Sonder, these agents are responsible for providing exceptional guest service in a fast-paced, evolving environment. They work collaboratively with team members to create memorable first impressions, ensuring guests feel welcomed and supported throughout their stay.

Agents guide guests through the technology-rich Sonder experience, helping them maximize the benefits of the Sonder app and its self-service features. Communication is key, as agents engage with guests both in-person and digitally to anticipate and meet their needs, swiftly resolving issues while maintaining professionalism and care. In addition to guest-facing duties, Front Desk Hospitality Agents help maintain cleanliness and organization in guest and back-of-house areas, contributing to an efficient and pleasant environment.

Flexibility is a hallmark of this role. Agents may support housekeeping quality audits, conduct inventory checks, and address minor maintenance and technology issues. They are often called upon to assist multiple properties within the local market, demonstrating adaptability and a team-oriented spirit. Administrative support to market leadership further ensures seamless operations.

In certain markets, agents also participate in hospitality tasks such as setting up breakfast buffets and adhering to food safety standards (HACCP). This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy meaningful guest interaction, problem-solving, and working in a collaborative environment that values innovation, hospitality, and continuous improvement.

Sonder offers a competitive compensation package and benefits that support employee well-being, including health and lifestyle perks, flexible vacation time, wellness and volunteering days, and travel discounts at Sonder properties worldwide. The company is committed to equal opportunity, diversity, and inclusion, creating a workplace where all individuals feel safe, respected, and empowered. Sonder’s employee resource groups further support this mission, fostering a welcoming culture aligned with the diverse communities it serves.

Ultimately, the Front Desk Hospitality Agent position at Sonder is more than a job; it is an opportunity to be part of a pioneering company that is reshaping the future of travel through innovative hospitality and exceptional guest experiences.
