We are currently seeking a motivated and customer-focused Front Desk Clerk to join the dynamic Front Office team at Hyatt Regency Portland. This role plays a crucial part in delivering outstanding guest service and ensuring a smooth, welcoming check-in and check-out process. The Front Desk Clerk is the first point of contact for guests, responsible for greeting visitors warmly, managing reservations, and handling various administrative tasks with accuracy and professionalism. This position requires excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The hourly wage for this role is $23.00 per hour.

In this position, you will be instrumental in enhancing the guest experience by providing information about hotel services and local attractions, responding to inquiries, and resolving guest concerns promptly. You will collaborate closely with other hotel departments to ensure that every guest’s stay is comfortable and memorable. Additional responsibilities include managing guest billing and room assignments, assisting with luggage, and offering concierge services such as making dining and entertainment reservations. Whether you are answering phone calls, addressing guest requests, or supporting event coordination, your role is vital to maintaining the high standards of hospitality Hyatt Regency Portland is known for.

Job Requirements

  • Previous experience in customer service or hospitality preferred

Job Duties

  • Welcome guests to the hotel with a friendly and professional demeanor
  • Check guests in and out efficiently, processing payments, issuing room keys according to established procedures
  • Answer phones, respond to inquiries, and provide information about hotel facilities, services, and local attractions
  • Handle guest requests and concerns promptly and effectively, escalating issues to management as needed
  • Maintain accurate records of guest accounts, including billing information and room assignments
  • Collaborate with other hotel departments to coordinate guest services and ensure a seamless guest experience
  • Assist with concierge services, including making reservations and providing recommendations for dining and entertainment
