The role available is that of a Front Desk Agent within a dynamic hotel environment. This position involves the courteous and efficient check-in and check-out of hotel guests, processing all payments accurately in accordance with established hotel policies. The Front Desk Agent serves as the first point of contact for guests and visitors, providing them with information, assistance, and ensuring their experience is seamless and welcoming. Reporting directly to the Front Office Manager or Assistant Front Office Manager, this role requires working across various hotel areas including front desk and back office spaces, guest rooms, and all public areas of the hotel.
The role demands close coordination with diverse internal teams including front desk colleagues, bell and door staff, transportation, PBX, concierge, reservations, assistant managers, sales and catering, housekeeping, restaurants, accounting, engineering, and security departments. Externally, the agent interacts with guests, visitors, tour company representatives, limousine service personnel, and other hotels to maintain smooth operations and guest satisfaction.
This position is pivotal for maintaining the highest service standards and requires a professional who is detail-oriented, capable of multitasking, clear communication, and problem-solving under pressure. The ideal candidate should have a high school diploma or vocational training, basic computer and arithmetic skills, fluency in English, and the ability to perform their duties with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy. The ability to prioritize, organize, maintain confidentiality, and work both independently and as part of a team is essential.
Physical demands for this role include frequent standing and walking throughout shifts, endurance of various physical activities, reaching and performing tasks at different levels, and the ability to communicate effectively with guests and staff. Additional preferences include some college education or training in hospitality, previous front desk experience, cashiering skills, and fluency in a foreign language, ideally Spanish, Russian, or Portuguese. Certifications such as CPR and prior guest relations training are advantages that contribute to success in this position.
