Job Description

The Wren, located in the heart of downtown Missoula, is an exceptional boutique hotel known for its unique and culturally inspired design, offering 73 one-of-a-kind guestrooms tailored for the modern Missoula traveler. Drawing inspiration from the surrounding thriving arts, culture, and picturesque natural landscapes, The Wren provides not only a place to stay but an immersive local experience. Its outdoor courtyard oasis is a rare gem amidst the urban environment, perfectly paired with on-site amenities such as the Black Coffee Roasting Co. café and 500 square feet of executive meeting space. This makes The Wren not just a lodging choice, but a vibrant social and community hub for visitors and locals alike. The hotel proudly integrates knowledgeable local guides to assist guests with personalized recommendations, ranging from dining and entertainment to outdoor adventures like hiking and biking, reflecting Missoula’s outdoor spirit.

As a Front Desk Agent at The Wren, your role is pivotal in crafting unforgettable guest experiences. This position thrives on dynamic interactions, requiring you to be a master multitasker and a memory maker, a true hospitality professional who delights in problem-solving and elevating each guest's day. The Front Desk Agent is responsible for managing the complete guest check-in and check-out process efficiently, including room keys, credits, resolving guest issues, and handling special requests with grace and professionalism. You will support the Front Office and Guest Services teams with various financial and service-related tasks, fostering a seamless and warm arrival and departure experience.

This role demands excellent communication skills, discretion, and sound judgment, especially when addressing guest concerns or conflicts, ensuring that solutions benefit both guests and business objectives. Operating essential systems such as the property management software, PBX, and radio paging systems are fundamental to this role’s success. Additionally, the Front Desk Agent facilitates guest access to services, including making reservations for restaurants and activities, and even safely managing valet guest vehicles.

The hourly pay for this position is $20.00, with eligibility for tips and tip pooling. The position offers daily pay, paid time off, and holiday pay, reflecting the company’s commitment to a healthy work-life balance. Additional benefits include medical, dental, vision, disability insurance, and a 401K plan, alongside HSA/FSA options with employer contributions. The culture at The Wren, guided by Columbia Hospitality’s values-based approach known as #OMGLIFE, emphasizes inclusion, respect, and team camaraderie. Employees enjoy perks such as referral bonuses, discounted lodging, dining, and recreational activities, employee assistance programs, volunteer opportunities, committee participation, and career growth initiatives supported by online learning platforms. Columbia Hospitality is renowned for its inclusive and values-driven environment that fuels personal growth and collective success.

Working at The Wren means joining a national hospitality management company with over 25 years of experience, recognized repeatedly as a top workplace by leading business publications. This role is perfect for those passionate about delivering exceptional guest experiences, excited to contribute to a values-led culture, and eager to thrive in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment.
