We are currently seeking enthusiastic and service-oriented Front Desk Agents to join our DoubleTree Baton Rouge team. The Front Desk Agent position is a pivotal role that serves as the ambassador of our hotel’s high standards. Front Desk Agents provide warm welcomes, manage seamless check-in and check-out processes, and deliver personalized guest experiences tailored to meet each visitor's needs. Attention to detail, professionalism, and effective communication are essential for success in this role. Agents handle guest inquiries both in person and over the phone, manage reservations, resolve guest complaints with tact and efficiency, and maintain thorough knowledge of hotel services, rates, and promotions.

Career progression at DoubleTree Baton Rouge is clearly defined, with pathways leading to positions such as Front Desk Supervisor, Front Desk Manager, Front Office Manager, Operations Manager, Assistant General Manager, General Manager, and even Area Vice President of Operations. The Front Desk Agent role demands excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to anticipate guest needs and respond promptly, regardless of the time of day or how busy the front desk may be. Maintaining positive guest relations and ensuring guest satisfaction are top priorities. Agents also manage financial transactions carefully, ensuring accuracy and security of hotel funds during their shifts. Crucially, Front Desk Agents communicate guest needs and special requests to relevant departments to ensure a smooth and enjoyable guest experience. This position requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent and at least one year of hotel front desk experience, with basic computer skills as a must.

Job Duties

  • Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction
  • anticipate guests needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests
  • maintain positive guest relations at all times
  • maintain complete knowledge of all hotel features/services, hours of operation, room rates, special packages and promotions, daily house count and expected arrivals/departures, scheduled daily group activities
  • obtain assigned bank and ensure accuracy of contracted monies
  • keep bank secure at all times
  • answer department telephone within 3 rings, using correct greeting and telephone etiquette
  • process all guest check-ins
  • verify registration card information with the guest
  • obtain back-up information for guest credit/payment method and input into system
  • collect cash when designated
  • direct Bell Person to escort guest and transport their luggage to the room
  • handle overbooked or walked in guests
  • accept and record wake-up call requests
  • monitor, send and distribute guest faxes
  • communicate pertinent guest information to designated departments/personnel
  • resolve discrepancies on the room status report with Housekeeping
  • match the bucket check to in-house guest ledger report
  • report discrepancies to Manager
  • process all check-outs
  • process adjustment vouchers, paid-outs, correction vouchers, miscellaneous charges
