The Front Desk Agent is responsible for key tasks such as guest registration and check-out, PBX operations, mail and message handling, and maintaining accuracy in daily accounting procedures like balancing the shift bank. The position requires maintaining hospitality standards at all times, such as engaging guests with eye contact, smiling, polite conversation, and personalizing interactions by using guest surnames. This role is central to delivering the unique boutique ambiance and ensuring every guest experience is welcoming and professional.
In addition to core duties, the Front Desk Agent coordinates pre-assignment of rooms including VIPs and repeat guests, efficiently answers calls, supports concierge services with updated knowledge of local attractions and events, and adheres to key control policies to maintain security. The agent also plays an important role in communicating and coordinating with departments such as Sales, Housekeeping, Bell Staff, and Valet to guarantee seamless guest satisfaction. A monthly department meeting is part of the routine, fostering team collaboration and continuous improvement in service delivery.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Six months to one year related experience and/or training
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from guests
- Ability to solve practical problems and handle a variety of variables with limited standardization
- Ability to interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule instructions
- Ability to operate property management system, capture email, and use PBX system
- Accountability for balancing daily shift bank
- Regularly required to stand, walk, talk, and hear during work
- Frequently required to use hands to handle objects and controls
- Occasionally required to lift or move up to 25 pounds
- Ability to adjust vision focus
- Comfortable working in a moderate noise environment
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED

Job Duties
- Provide high level of customer service
- Conduct pre-assignment of hotel rooms including VIPs and special requests
- Check in and check out hotel guests professionally and confidently
- Answer all phone calls promptly and accurately
- Complete all shift checklists on time
- Follow established key control policy
- Maintain professional presentation and hygiene
- Verify credit limits and ensure credit policies are followed
- Submit lost and found reports
- Assist with concierge services and local area knowledge
- Familiar with fire and emergency procedures
- Open, secure, and balance daily shift bank
- Monitor room availability during the day
- Review daily hotel selling status using yield management
- Attend monthly department meetings
- Coordinate with Sales, Housekeeping, Bell Staff, and Valet
