Job Description

Six Flags is a premier amusement park company renowned for its thrilling rides, entertaining shows, and vibrant atmosphere that brings joy and excitement to millions of visitors each year. Known nationwide for offering an unforgettable guest experience, Six Flags combines the best in family entertainment with a commitment to safety, excellence, and community involvement. As a leading amusement park destination, Six Flags continually invests in its diverse team of professionals who help create magical moments for guests of all ages.

The role of Entertainment Character at Six Flags is a vital part of creating an immersive and engaging experience for park guests. This position involves portraying various costume characters that represent beloved Warner Brothers franchises and other themed personas throughout the park. Entertainment Characters engage directly with guests, fellow team members, and supervisors to uphold the park's high standards of guest interaction and character integrity. This job requires individuals who are enthusiastic, energetic, and possess a passion for delivering exceptional customer service while maintaining the illusion and identity of costumed characters.

Successful candidates will perform outdoor character appearances, often in warm or extreme weather conditions, requiring resilience and stamina. Working outdoors means frequent exposure to sunlight, dust, and various weather elements, along with the physical demands of wearing costumes weighing between 15 to 30 pounds for extended periods. The role demands continuous engagement with guests, ensuring their satisfaction and safety during their visit. Entertainment Characters also maintain the upkeep of their costumes and accessories, ensuring that characters always look their best for every guest interaction.

This hourly position pays $17.50 and is contingent upon a successful audition, with several audition dates offered. The role requires flexible availability, especially from September through November, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Candidates must be at least 16 years old and able to work a minimum of 12 shifts during this period, including late hours following park closing. The job requires excellent physical fitness and the ability to stand and walk for extended periods—up to 14 hours and distances of up to three miles daily.

Candidates must display outstanding customer service skills, an outgoing and friendly demeanor, and the ability to communicate effectively in English. The role prioritizes guest interaction, safety, and the maintenance of a clean, welcoming environment both in guest view and behind the scenes. Teamwork and cooperation with all park staff are essential as well as a commitment to providing a safe and enjoyable experience for visitors. This role is perfect for motivated individuals seeking a fun, fast-paced work environment with the opportunity to become part of a renowned amusement park team, bringing smiles and memorable moments to thousands of guests.
