Job Description
Newrest is an international catering company with roots dating back to 1996 under the Group Catair, founded by Co-CEOs Olivier Sadran and Jonathan Stent-Torriani. It stands as the only major catering company active across all hospitality segments including airline catering, buy-on-board services, duty-free onboard sales, contract catering, remote site and support services, rail catering, as well as airport and motorway retail. With a robust revenue stream of nearly 1.9 billion euros in 2017-18 and a workforce of 32,000 employees across 49 countries, Newrest ranks as the world's largest independent airline caterer. The company prides itself on innovation, continuous improvement, and adhering to sustainable and socially responsible business practices, ensuring progress for both its clients and employees.
The role of Fridge/Quality Control Supervisor for the graveyard shift at Newrest ATL offers an exciting opportunity to be a key player in maintaining and enhancing the quality control and food safety processes. This supervisory position demands close monitoring and strategic intervention to ensure the highest company standards of quality and food safety are upheld consistently. The Fridge/QC Supervisor will lead a team of Quality Control Auditors, fostering a motivated and well-trained workforce capable of meeting strict department goals efficiently.
This role requires supervising all food production requirements, including verifying that the correct number of meals for each flight is prepared, packed, and allocated precisely as per customer and client specifications. Attention to detail is critical when checking aircraft trolleys and meals to ensure compliance with Newrest’s high-quality standards. The supervisor also actively supports the production line when necessary, contributing hands-on assistance such as tray setup and final packaging touches to meet strict flight schedules. Additional responsibilities include conducting physical inventory counts, managing packing equipment, ensuring conformity in deliveries, and maintaining clean, safe working areas.
Strong communication skills are essential for interfacing effectively with production supervisors and hourly employees regarding production pace, food safety measures, and quality protocols. The supervisor is also responsible for onboarding and training staff in quality assurance, sanitation, and food safety standards, covering critical areas like good manufacturing practices (GMPs), HACCP, and USDA regulations. Administrative tasks such as time card management, employee paperwork, and safety audits also fall under this role’s purview. Overall, the Fridge/QC Supervisor plays a pivotal role in maintaining Newrest’s reputation for excellence in food quality and safety during the night shift.
This is a full-time position requiring the ability to work in cold environments such as the fridge and freezer sections. Candidates must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, work effectively in varying temperature conditions, and handle moderate to high noise levels in the work environment. This job offers a comprehensive benefits package, including free meals, medical and dental coverage, life and disability insurance, a 401(k) plan with company match, paid time off, and multiple other employee support programs, contributing to a well-rounded and supportive employment experience.
