Job Description
Walmart Supercenter is a globally recognized retail giant known for providing customers with a wide range of products at affordable prices. Located at 4840 Outer Loop, Louisville, KY, Walmart Supercenter #6931 operates as part of the world’s largest retail corporation, delivering an excellent shopping experience through a vast selection of groceries, consumables, general merchandise, and more. Walmart’s commitment to serving its community and its customers with quality service and diverse product offerings has made it a household name nationally and internationally. As a vital part of the neighborhood retail landscape, this Walmart Supercenter offers not only a place to shop but also employment opportunities designed to foster growth, development, and financial security for associates.
This role focuses on the Food and Consumable associate position within Walmart’s retail framework. This part-time employment opportunity caters to individuals available to work mid-shift and closing shifts while engaging directly with customers and the store’s merchandising efforts. The hourly wage ranges from $15 to $28 an hour, reflecting the job location’s minimum wage requirements and the employee’s experience and performance. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance-based incentives as well as premiums that may be awarded depending on various factors such as schedule, facility, seasonal demands, or specific work tasks. These premiums can range from $0.35 to $3.00 per hour, with multiple premiums possibly applying if the criteria are met.
Food and Consumable associates are primarily tasked with taking care of customers by ensuring that merchandise is efficiently moved from the backroom to the sales floor. They also play a creative role in merchandising, constructing seasonal display features that meet customer needs and enhance the shopping experience. This job requires energy, dedication, and a customer-focused mindset, as associates are the face of the brand and help create a welcoming environment. Walmart Supercenter supports its associates through a wide array of benefits designed to promote well-being and professional growth. These include medical, vision, and dental coverage, 401(k) programs, company stock purchase options, and company-paid life insurance. Paid time off and other leave benefits such as parental leave, family care leave, bereavement, jury duty, and voting leave help associates balance work with personal responsibilities.
Moreover, Walmart offers short-term and long-term disability, company discounts, military leave pay, and financial supports such as adoption and surrogacy expense reimbursement. Associates also receive paid time off (PTO) and/or Paid Personal Time Off (PPTO) that can be utilized for vacation, sick leave, holidays, and more, with amounts varying by job classification and tenure. For educational advancement, Walmart provides the Live Better U program, covering tuition, books, and fees for a wide spectrum of educational pursuits from high school completion to bachelor’s degrees and certificates. This program demonstrates Walmart’s commitment to employee education and career development. Workplace safety is paramount at Walmart, with a strict no-tolerance policy for illegal drug use and alcohol, ensuring a safe, productive, and professional work environment for all its employees.
